LadyLista - Gaun bertahtakan berlian berharga US$150000 atau kira-kira RM540 000 yang dipakai oleh Lupita Nyong'o untuk Academy Arads dilaporkan telah dicuri.

Jurucakap West Hollywood memberitahu pada Rabu bahawa, gaun Calvin Klien dari Francisco Costa dilaporkan hilang dari bilik hotel aktres tersebut.

Bowman berkata Nyong ada semasa polis mengambil keterangan namun dia tiada dibilik semasa gaun tersebut dilaporkan hilang.

Gaun ini merupakan rekaan khas dari Costa yang menggunakan 6000 butir berlian dari pelbagai saiz.

Jurucakap pelakon berkenaan melaporkan kecurian tersebut dan detektif mengesyaki gaun tersebut dicuri sekitar jam 8 hingga 9.

Menurut pelakon kelahiran Kenya ini dia memakai gaun berlian ini bersama anting-anting bersama cincin berlian.

Thief Returns Stolen Oscar Dress Of Lupita Nyong'o And Here's Why
Lupita Nyong'o is relatively a newcomer to the scene, but she's one of the most anticipated presences during awards shows because she's always a vision to behold on the red carpet. Like in previous awards, she didn't disappoint during the 87th Oscars, stunning everyone in a Calvin Klein all-pearl number.

Not all are fans, however. In particular, the guys who decided to lift Nyong'o's dress from the London Hotel in West Hollywood. They probably took interest in the dress after finding out that the piece from Calvin Klein's custom collection reportedly cost $150,000. At least, that was what her stylist Micaela Erlanger said.
After the loot turned out disappointing, the thief returned Lupita Nyong'o's dress where the culprit believed the Calvin Klein number belonged.

It turns out the dress is practically worthless.

Calling TMZ on Friday, the thief recounted how he took a couple of pearls from the dress, got it checked out at L.A.'s Garment District and was sadly told that the pearls were not real. While the thief did a decent thing returning Nyong'o's dress, he wasn't about to let a major letdown like that slide easily and put the dress where it belongs: inside a trash bag.

He said he called TMZ because he wanted to let everyone know about "Hollywood's fake bulls**t."

TMZ notified the L.A. County Sheriff's Department and told them how to find the dress based on information the thief left. Just as he said, the Calvin Klein dress was in a garment bag in a trash bag in a bathroom by the fitness center on the second floor.

According to sources from law enforcement, Calvin Klein never disclosed the nature of the pearls or the value of the dress. Apparently, the only one who said the pearls were real and the dress was valued at $150,000 was Nyong'o's stylist.

"Did anyone ever say they were real from Calvin Klein? I always assumed everyone knew they were fake, but I guess not," said a source connected directly with Francisco Costa, Calvin Klein's Women's creative director. "Do they really make dresses out of real jewels since Cleopatra died?"

Nyong'o wore the dress with Chopard diamond earrings. She won the Best Supporting Actress Award last year for her role in 12 Years a Slave. This year, she presented the award, which Patricia Arquette won for Boyhood.
