regarding the Sabahan slang in 'Aku Maharani' I think it was did on purpose. It's not a very big deal anyway. actually... aku pun suka lagu-lagu Melayu dinyanyikan secara baku. kadang-kadang aku rasa sedikit meluat gak bila penyanyi Melayu menyanyi dengan sebutan macam org putih dalam lagu Melayu, (Idayu is not an exception eventhough aku minat dia =p), sebabnya kalau kita dengar lagu tu betul-betul kita akan rasa yg sebutan bahasa Melayu tu macam cacat.

7.5 octaves is an exaggeration to silence the commoners who question her vocal ability. Her real range is from a bottom D below middle C in the chest register (barely audible) all the way up to a high whistle F three times above middle C. That's amazing by any standards.
She can be a coloratura and she is learning a few classical arias from me. Yes, you're right about her warm vibrato, especially in the range from D above middle C to the next D. Very fluid and soothing it melts any heart.
Thank you for your very technical review. I hope people who don't understand music can now realise Nikki's potential as a serious artiste who has used almost all of her talents and techniques in this recording. For those who bash her accent and her vocal style, let's just ignore them. They have no idea and they will forever remain in their dark caves. |

there are different ways of arguments.... but i see certain people just cannot understand between critics and bashing?
and by the way... how do u expect everyone in the world knows how to appreciate vocal? do u think everyone learn vocal? majority speaks from their music taste, forgive them for their dumbness, but curse them if they're dumb but pretend be be wise.

brett....u take ur time la....ambik masa mendengar and menghayati this album betul2 at least 5 to 10 times. cuba appreciate the distinctive timbre, vocal and tonal qualities of nikki. bg aku, dia mmg x perfect but i think ppl can grow to like her gradually. dgr bila ko x buat pape and hati pun tenang and u are ready to dwelve into her music. kalo ko still xleh trima...aku tau nk kata apa. masing2 mempunyai tastes yg berbeza. |

thank god she doesnt have 7.5 octaves eventhough i wish she had it. it was definitely hard to believe but u finally clarified ur intention on making that statement. iyelah kalo she had 7.5 octaves, that means she would have to at least be able to sing through a scale of 56 white keys on the grand piano which is pretty impossible.
when u say bottom D below middle C, that would mean a D3 right?? thats very low for a soprano. no wonder she kindof has the dark tonal qualities of an alto in her lower register. and when u say 3 high Fs above middle C, is it an F6 or an F7?? bcoz if its an F6, nikki has hit a B6 already in Pinta (after singing a G6). but nikki hitting an F7 for me is hard to believe eventhough its plausible. do u have a clip of her singing her highest note mr vernon or could u at least provide us music lovers with nikki's lowest and highest notes. PLEASE. i love listening to really low notes and high notes.
one more thing mr vernon, is there any possibility of ning taking idayu under her wings or joining artistes united records in the near future?? i know u have a bit of disaffinity towards idayu but i think she should be in ur record label and i think u and ning should save her from a very dark future in maestro records. she has no future in maestro. please save her. even if she was lucky enough to produce an album (konon2 by m nasir), i dont think she will produce a very good album and the overall production of the album would be pretty low and maestro always allocates 8 songs per album for most of the AF kids who succeed in making an album. i dont want her to produce mushy, melancholic and jiwang type of songs from adnan abu hassan (eventhough KYT was very good bcoz of idayu's vocal qualities) and i dont want her to disappear from the malaysian music scene like those other AF kids.any possibility mr vernon?? please provide us with hope. |

wah!! panas jugak perbincangan kat sini yer.. kan ker bagus kalau ramai pengurus artis cam Mr Vernon... sanggup turun padang mempromosi album artisnyer tapi relax la dude... jangan la melatah bukan2... cara u akan buat orang suka @ bencikan nikki... bila aku baca perbincangan u & pengkid tu aku yg tak de rasa apa2 kat nikki jadik ada sikit rasa menyampah kat nikki (padahal nikki tak de pun berbincang sekali kat sini but since u is her manager so u represent nikki) sbb nikki is not that special sampai perlu beri komen yg bagus2 saja tentang dia. she is the new girl in malaysian music so mesti la ada feedback yg berbeza ttg album dia.
setiap orang tentu ada cara yg berbeza untuk memberi komen. sepatutnya u bincang baik2 la dengan orang2 yg bagi komen kat sini tak kisah la derang tu bagi komen bagus @ tidak. orang2 ini la yg akan beli @ support nikki so u tak leh marah2 derang @ tuduh derang ada agenda yg bukan2. salah cara u ni.
anyway.. aku bercadang nak beli album nikki langsung tak jadi sbb tengok cara u layan forumer kat sini. sedikit sebanyak tindakan u tu memberi kesan pada nikki. please be careful mr vernon.. setiap apa yg u buat akan menjadi perhatian sbb u mmg mengaku yg u ni mr vernon pengurus nikki. ini cuma nasihat dari aku yg membaca posting u jer..

moving on, back to topik asal iaitu nikki. aku pun ada naik meluat baca review review yg semua glowing tapi aku dgr sample aku suka a few songs jek...kira okay la, tak da la sampai best mana pun dan di sini aku paham dan SETUJU dgn pengkid.
bila baca blog semua tu cam best giler giler best tapi takda la pulak best sampai cam tu, tu yg membuatkan aku suspicious sikit. at the end of the day it all comes down to individual taste. the average joe or ali, drg bukannya dengar dari aspek technical, drg dgr dari aspek sedap tak sedap tu jek. i still can't find the album dan aku dah malas nak carik. bila aku jumpa nanti barulah aku boleh buat review based on my own taste. tapi klu nak ckp dari segi sample tu aku dgr okay jek. definitely sounds better than album jac, tapi all those positive and glowing reviews..as if album ni memuatkan 12 lagu number 1 hits. |

currently , my no 1 fav of course la PINTA...next..IMAGINASI kot...and lagu rancak..i like CARAMU...

After listening a few times, aku mula suka lagu 'Caramu'. Cuma one thing yg aku rasa macam kurang ialah dia punya music arrangement... aku rasa lebih sesuai kalau bass tone dia lebih 'fat' dan tak ada distortion. Sebab aku rasa distortion tu nampak macam bunyinya kelam kabut. Beat lagu tu best... quite catchy.
Lagi satu, aku nak bagi cadangan kat MrManager kita ni supaya try market Nikki kat Indonesia pulak... mesti boleh masuk punya.

yup! perasan.. walau pun album di puji di sana sini, tapi masih ada banyak kekurangan. itu kita tak leh nafikan. ramai kat luar sini yang menilai lagu ikut sedap telinga aje, takde masa nak kaji itu ini tentang lagu dan suara. sayanglah.. kalau album ni hanya memenuhi sebahagian golongan sahaja. |

hmm..tol gak kan...sebab kebykkan pendengar lagu kat malaysia ni jenis yg akan suka kat lagu tu kalau lagu tu sedap ..melodi dia best...tambah2 kalau artis yg popular nyanyi..sure meletop punyaa..dorang bukan kisah sgt pasal teknik2 yg digunakan, atau macam mana hebatnye muzik arrangement lagu tu..all they care about..boleh ke lagu tu connect ngan jiwa dorang.....kita takleh nak expect semua org akan minat ngan lagu nikki atau cara nyanyiannya kan...like 1st time i listen to the songs and her voice..berkerut gak kening dgr...but then after listening to it for few more times..boleh la terima ...lagu2 macam, PINTA, IMAGINASI, CARAMU and AKU MAHARANI...sedap gak.
