Training manual to tackle sexual issues faced by children with disabilities

PETALING JAYA: A training manual to tackle sexual and reproductive health issues for children and teenagers with disabilities is in its final stages of development by the Health Ministry.

Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said that the manual would focus on the personal care and safety of the child with special needs to prevent them from getting abused.

"We have to face reality that sexual harassment will continue to happen," he told reporters on Tuesday after the media launch of the 24th Kiwanis Treasure Hunt.

"The manual is to help doctors and people to identify and treat. There are guidelines and procedures to follow especially when the person is unable to communicate effectively."

Home alone girl rescued

Three-year-old found tied to window
THE Civil Defence (JPA3) personnel rescued a three-yearold girl who was home alone on the seventh floor of a flat in Lorong Perak, Penang, on Wednesday. When rescued at 8.40pm, the girl was crying and sitting on a five-foot high refrigerator. Her right leg was tied with a nylon string to a kitchen window.

North-East OCPD ACP Azam Abdul Hamid said: 揚olice have summoned a relative because she was believed to have put the girl on the fridge.

tak dok...hardcopy ada gambo mcm amek pakai henpong masa dia kene ikat kat grill and a blurred pic of one of the suspects which i presume is the stepmother
