Bolivian forward Marcelo Moreno is deciding whether to move to Tottenham Hotspur or Shakhtar Donetsk, according to the player's father.
The Cruzeiro striker's performances in the Copa Libertadores, where he has scored eight goals, apparently piqued the interest of Roma, Shakhtar and Tottenham.
Reports in the Bolivian press suggest that, with an initial bid from Spurs turned down, Moreno was in Donetsk pondering a move to Shakhtar - but a second offer from the London club has complicated matters.
The player's father, Mauro Martins, said: 'The first offer from Tottenham was declined by the Cruzeiro board because they wanted all the money in one go.
'Marcelo really liked Donetsk, but we are waiting as this new deal also seems important.
'There is a chance to go to Tottenham, but only if they pay the whole fee at once.' |

Giovani on verge of swapping Barca for Tottenham
Barcelona forward Giovani Dos Santos looks set to sign for Tottenham later this week after the player's father revealed a move is close.
Reports in Spain suggest the Mexican attacker - who has also been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City in recent weeks - will cost Tottenham a fee of around 9million euros.
'Nothing has been finalised,' former Brazilian footballer Zizinho told Mexican sports daily Record.
'But it is an honour that a club as important as Tottenham want to sign Giovani, but nothing can be said officially yet.'
Zizinho said his son is excited by the challenge lying ahead in north London.
He added: 'Tottenham's ambitious plans have excited Giovani and he just wants to go there and help the team in any way he can.
'It is obvious that leaving Barcelona is a risky decision, but with his qualities it appears that it could be the best option for him.' |

Caceres temped by move to Barcelona
Uruguay defender Martin Caceres admits a move to Barcelona is an attractive prospect.
The 21-year-old is owned by Villarreal but spent this past season on loan at Recreativo Huelva and won much admiration for his performances despite a tough season which saw them finish 16th.
There has been much talk of a move for Caceres, with speculation in the Spanish media suggesting a move to Barcelona could be sealed by the end of the week.
The defender told Marca: 'To any player, the idea of playing at Barcelona or at a large European club is seductive.
'Also Real Madrid and Chelsea have been spoken of, but it all hinges on arriving at an agreement with Villarreal. In the last few weeks it has all moved quickly. First it seemed Real Madrid were closer and now is Barca.'
Villarreal impressed as much as Caceres did this season, finishing second and securing a place in the Champions League.
So if no move materialises, it will not be the end of the world for Caceres, who admits he has been surprised to have been such a hit since leaving Uruguayan side Defensor Sporting last summer.
'I did not expect that in my first year in Europe there was going to so much talk about me and expectations would raised so much,' he said. 'I owe it all to Villarreal, so I am prepared for what might happen and if, in the end, no agreement is arrived at among the clubs, nothing will happen because I will be very happy if I have the chance to wear the Villarreal shirt.'
