Hello! I'm Kong Weng,
I am going to renovate my kitchen. I would like to ask that have you heard of jt design? I have invited them to take measurement at my house, and they came. The way they talk is really polite. I love the way how they serve and talked to me. But, they have only factory but no showroom. So, i don't have anything to see like workmanship. I really worry about the workmanship and this is the main point i consider of. But the speed of quotation they provide is really ok. I don't need to chase after it to get it. They sent the quotation and drawing to me after 3 days from site measurement. Pricing also reasonable! They are now waiting for my answer to start work. Can anyone give suggestion?

Hi all ,
As an alert , I was a victim to unprofessional freelance of this contractor kitchen cabinet .
His advertisement was all over mudah, cyberjaya forum and in facebook .
I was very very very disappointed and near to have a quarrel between my wife and the contractor . This contractor don't have showroom, don't have factory and even don't have lorry to transport all the cabinet that you order .
Always use excuses no lorry , factory cannot make it on time , worker driver not available .
I start paid 50% deposit for 8 feets cabinet with tall unit and hood hoop . Table top is concrete. He is using other contractor to do the table top and the table top contractor unmanageable by him . He suppose to oversea the project and follow up but at the I (customer) everyday keep ringing him asking when his contractor gonna start the work .
The work start on 24 march and finish on 26 march . Overall the quality of workmanship not so good .The sink was not install properly ,the size of sink hole was to wide and when their put the sink it is not as the same level as my table top . Then the finishing ,they just put silicone and when using 2 week the silicone already peel and tear off .
For the sink piping , this vendor very lazy , just use flexible hose like washing machine hose then stick to the sink hole and outlet at the wall. There is no sink trap.
The cabinet contractor start measure on 3rd April after I complain that he don't even come to see the table top. Then he promise that the cabinet will be ready in 2 weeks .
After 3 weeks there still no update from the contractor, I still keep quite and think positive that maybe the factory have many orders.
After 3.5 weeks waiting , I cannot bear as my house kitchen was very in messy condition due to no cabinet to store. I write an email to the contractor and cc to Kementerian Perdagangan and FOMCA complain about late delivery and bad finishing for the sink .What a shock that the contractor reply said he's not guilty and he got evidence that said I did not inform him earlier.
What a proof he has as I got sms reply from him and he already aware about the sink condition when he came for cabinet measuring .
After discuss , he inform his table top contractor . Then he assume that I need to arrange myself with the table top contractor to fix the sink ... gulp ...why I need to follow up with his subcon ? Is it customer responsible ? Suppose he as mancon do it . Then instruct me to ask for deposit from his subcon as a result of poor sink installation ..Again why I need to get deposit from his subcon ? I can hold the balance of total payment from you ...Again this contractor keep main tarik tali ...pointed to his subcon for the late and everything.
I wait until the day he said want to install the cabinet . Again he broke the promise(janjidicapati) as he said factory close and worker went back home for voting. I said ok on Monday and Tuesday . Again ,said the worker still at Kampung ...I and my wife feel so frustrated . My wife stress level cannot stand anymore and if this coming promise date if he don't come , we wi
ll take action by log this case to Police Station.
As promise on the installation date , 11:00-12:00 am said to come but when call around 13:00 until 14:30 , handphone was off. I received SMS and said ..Sorry , factory cannot do your cabinet . Then I stunned ;O , why said want to install but suddenly said factory tak buat lagi.
Now fighting to get back all the money + cost to repair sink which he said again I need to liaise with his subcon . If thing get worst will make a police report for unsatisfactory services.
To all fellow forumner , please alert and do not engage with this person even tho he give free and cheap price .

sad for hear this.biasa i tak suggest our customer dont deal with subcons.because normally subcons no factory,no showroom,no personal installer,no after sales services.i think better u can try to find consumer department,may be they can help u.

Hi Steve, for concrete table top do you build the 3" platform at the bottom on the floor as well? Or cover with paneling only? |
