My Thriller scoop of the week: The Michael Jackson police station freak-out NOBODY told you about -- a foot-stomping temper tantrum that exploded when a booking officer questioned El Weirdo's weight!

According to My Spy, the booking went calmly at first, although cops kept gawking at their handcuffed perp's lathered-on makeup and dramatic hair -- unaware that Diva Boy had hired hair and makeup people to primp him on the plane from Vegas to Santa Barbara!

Michael shuffled meekly through the fingerprinting/mug-shot process -- but trouble flared when the booking officer asked his weight!

"I weigh 120 pounds," whispered the 5-foot-11-inch star. Said the officer: "Are you sure? You look like you weigh more."

Michael, visibly upset, began stomping his feet. "That's how much I weigh . . . 120 pounds." When the stunned cop hesitated, Michael got even angrier.

"Write that down," he insisted. "I'm 120 pounds . . . write that DOWN!" The cop shrugged, wrote "120 lbs" -- then asked the color of his eyes. "Chocolate," lisped El Wacko. Snapped the annoyed cop: " 'Chocolate' is not a color . . . I'm writing down 'brown'!" (Now . . . BEAT IT!)

Prosecutor Confident Jackson is Guilty

The case against pop superstar Michael Jackson is so strong that he will almost certainly spend time in jail over child molestation charges, prosecutors insist.

Santa Barbara, California, district attorney Tom Sneddon is confident the Thriller singer will be convicted, following talks with colleague Tom Rackauckas.

Rackauckas, the district attorney for Orange County, California, says, "He was very confident about the evidence in the case and very confident that he's bringing a proper case, and that it would result in a conviction."

But Rackauckas adds Sneddon will need physical evidence or a second witness following questions over the credibility of a 13-year-old's testimony.

Sneddon is expected to formally charge Jackson this week with repeatedly molesting the boy.

According to a new poll, most people want embattled pop singer Michael Jackson to keep making music, despite the fact they think he's guilty of molesting a 12-year-old boy. The New York Daily News reported last week that 58 percent of those polled by the Gallup organization said Jackson should continue his career. However, fans may not be putting their money where their mouth is. Number Ones, a compilation of Jackson's hits released November 18, has sold less than 250,000 copies, according to USA Today.


The Gallup poll also found that that 51 percent said the sexual abuse charges against Jackson were probably true, and 11 percent said the allegations were definitely true, while 7 percent said the charges were definitely not true.


In related news, Jackson's brother told MSNBC last week that the pop star was physically mistreated while in custody of the Santa Barbara, California, Sheriff's Department, after he turned himself on November 20 to face the charges. Jermaine Jackson refused to provide details, saying only, "The pictures will show everything."


The Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department disputed the claim. Chris Pappas, a spokesman for the department, told the AP that the singer was treated, quote, "with courtesy and professionalism throughout the process."


The 45-year-old Jackson turned himself November 20 on suspicion of molesting a boy at his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara. He has denied the allegations and is free on $3 million bail. Authorities have said they plan to file formal charges sometime this week.

Fewer Americans believe Michael Jackson is guilty of wrongdoing even as prosecutors prepare to file child molestation charges against the pop star, a new USA TODAY/CNN/Gallup poll finds.

According to the Dec. 11-14 poll, 54% said the sexual abuse allegations are either "definitely true" or "probably true." That is down from 62% in a similar poll conducted Dec. 5-7.

The 8-point drop could be a result of new revelations that seem to bolster Jackson's case.

A confidential memo leaked to TheSmokingGun.com last week showed Los Angeles child welfare officials cleared Jackson of any mis-conduct during a February investigation involving the same boy at the center of the current investigation. Other reports attacked the credibility of the accuser and his family.

Santa Barbara County officials accuse Jackson of molesting a young cancer patient at his Neverland Valley Ranch.

In the new poll, 31% said the allegations are "probably not true" or "definitely not true," up slightly from 29% in the earlier poll. The poll has an error margin of 3 percentage points.

More people now are not sure what to think: 15% had no opinion about the allegations, compared with 9% in the earlier poll.

The new poll also revealed a wide disparity between blacks and whites in their feelings about Jackson.

A majority 54% of blacks had a "favorable" opinion about Jackson, compared with 14% of whites. Only 30% of blacks had an "unfavorable" opinion of the singer, compared with 72% of whites. Thirteen percent of blacks and 11% of whites had a "mixed" or "neutral" opinion.

Charges will be filed on Thursday or Friday in Santa Maria, Calif., Santa Barbara County District Attorney Thomas Sneddon said in a statement. Sneddon is expected to file multiple counts for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.

Jackson, who is out on $3 million bail, calls the allegations a "big lie."
