When news of an impending Brangelina split broke on Saturday, tabloids and blogs went wild trying to find every juicy bit of information to back up the story that Hollywood's golden couple was ending their romance.
However, one of the deets that looks like it may have been falsely reported was a legal document drafted up just days before the breakup rumors started.
NYDN is reporting that though Brangelina visited a high-profile attorney last week, they did so only to cover their assets.
A source tells NYDN, "They aren't married, so they need to protect their children and property in case there's a rift in the future ... People hear 'legal papers' and assume it means a divorce. But it could mean exactly the opposite. Either way, they're making sure to get their ducks in a row, which they'll need whether they split or stay together forever."
So what about skipping out on red carpet appearances as a couple? The source says, "There was a lot of talk when they didn't attend the Globes or the SAG awards this past weekend. But that's not entirely out of the ordinary for them. Although Inglourious Basterds was nominated, Brad wasn't up for anything individually, and neither was Angelina. Besides, they're Brangelina. They can do whatever they want."

With the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie split rumors popping up more aggressively than ever before, if you're a tabloid glossy, this is definitely the week to put Brangelina on the cover. But just how much truth is there to these stories? Are the mags simply printing what we want to read, or is there actual proof to back up the claims of Angie's sordid extramarital affairs and Jen taking Brad back? Or some combination of both?
Star reports that Brad reached out to Jennifer Aniston before the two met up at the Hope for Haiti Now benefit last Friday. "He knew she would console him, like she always did when they were together," a source tells the mag.
"[Jen's] never had a relationship live up to what they had, and now that things with Angie are finally ending, she’ll take him back," says to a friend. The day after the telethon, Jen reportedly called Brad up and admitted the spark was still there, and according to the source, he felt it too. “The moment he and Angie make it official that they’ve called it quits, she’s ready to try again.”
First of all, we don't even KNOW for sure that Brad and Angie are splitting up - neither one of their reps have commented on it, and just because Brad was in the same building as his ex-wife doesn't mean that he's going to run back into her arms. While it seems like terminally single Jen would love to have her man back, doesn't it seem a bit premature to put them on the cover together? Then again, the Team Aniston army wants to see this...

So what other rumors are circulating this week? In addition to the Braniston reunion reports, In Touch Weekly claims that Brad has already introduced Jen to Zahara and Shiloh!
Back in March, Brad allegedly went to great lengths to arrange a secret meeting in NYC for Jen, himself, and his two daughters. According to an insider, Brad met Jen in Central Park, and while Zahara was sleeping in the car, Jen spent time with Shiloh and Brad. One of Jen's pals tells the mag that she was "moved to tears" after seeing Brad and Angie's little girl. “She said that all that had happened in their past seemed to melt away that day,” says the friend.

Us Weekly claims Angie pissed about how Brad cooks the eggs! The mag's reporting a source tells them Angelina's "exhausted and has been overwhelmed with the kids" and that "she'll yell at him when he makes the eggs too runny or burns something." Who thinks Brad's really doing the cooking anyway!
But seriously, who the heck's telling Us Weekly this stuff? Does Angelina have an assistant gone awry? Maybe one of their nannies needed some extra cash and decided to talk?
Furthermore, the mag's report says Brad calls Angelina a bitch behind her back. Now that, I believe!

OK! reports that it was George Clooney who helped initiate the reunion, as he was the one who got the former spouses to volunteer for the Hope For Haiti Now telethon. According to the mag, George knew they were bound to bump into each other, and with Angelina in NYC for a photo shoot, it seemed like the perfect place for them to reconnect.
Everyone loves a good story, but at this point doesn't it seem like the need to sell magazines trumps telling the truth? Even the more mainstream publications have moved into tabloid territory, publishing what they believe is their readers' fantasy - that Brad and Jen will get back together. What do you believe? No one really knows what's going on with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's relationship, but according to new reports, the supercouple won't be attending the Academy Awards together on March 7.
Multiple sources tell E! News that Brad and Angie won't walk the red carpet, as she will be going to Venice at the end of February to start shooting The Tourist with Johnny Depp.
Brad hasn't been confirmed to attend the Oscars, but if Angelina is off shooting her new flick, we're guessing he's going to stay home with their army of kids. Either way, it sounds like the Oscars are going to be a little less golden this year...

After a report this weekend that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have called it quits, the couple did spend last night together in their Los Angeles home.
After jetting off to New York to shoot a cover for Vanity Fair, Angelina returned to LA yesterday, arriving at the couple's Los Feliz home around 4 pm. She arrived in her black Denali -- a car they own and use regularly -- and was followed by her assistant in a white Jaguar.
The children were at home all weekend and Brad has been staying indoors. After Friday's Hope for Haiti telethon, Pitt eschewed the Screen Actors' Guild and Producers' Guild Awards on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, despite his film Inglorious Basterds being nominated both nights.
All the children were at their LA-area school on Friday and we spotted them heading to classes this morning as well.
So did Brad and Angelina spend a romantic evening at home, relaxing with the kids, relationship intact? Or was the couple in separate wings of their craftsman-style compound, planning their next moves and deciding what they'll say to the media about their breakup?

Brad Pitt's Inglourious Basterds co-star Samm Levine tells Us Weekly that the actor can handle his alcohol ... and then some! "Oh, he's a fine drinking buddy," Samm spilled at Sundance on Wednesday. "Between Brad and Quentin, I would die of alcohol poisoning on day two if I had to keep up with those guys!" Yikes!
Samm added that he made fun of Jon Voight's accent in Anaconda, failing to realize that the man is essentially Brad's father-in-law! "So we had a great long conversation about that, and then I walked away, and thought, 'Jon Voight is kinda like his father, isn't he?'" Levine said. Khabar angin mendakwa mereka di ambang perpisahan. Ada yang berkata mereka sudah tidak tinggal bersama lagi. Khabar angin itu tersebar begitu pantas. Tetapi rakan rapat pasangan itu bertegas berkata, media tersilap apabila menggambarkan perjanjian yang hampir sama dengan persetujuan praperkahwinan yang ditandatangani pasangan itu sebagai tanda mereka berpisah.


Sumber pasangan itu dan bapa Angelina, Jon Voight, menafikan laporan tabloid yang mendakwa kononnya mereka sudah tidak bersama.


Menurut sumber, cerita itu jauh daripada kebenaran. Sebaliknya, Angelina dan Pitt menandatangani perjanjian yang serupa dengan persetujuan praperkahwinan, membabitkan harta bernilai berjuta-juta dolar, sekali gus mengukuhkan hubungan mereka.


Satu sumber memberitahu majalah Life and Style: "Pitt dan Angelina menemui peguam terkenal di Los Angeles Disember lalu untuk merangka persetujuan cara berkongsi harta dan eset serta hak penjagaan terhadap enam anak mereka yang semuanya akan tinggal dengan Angelina jika berlaku perpisahan.
