Joaquin close to exit

Real Betis and Spanish international winger Joaquin is set to join Valencia, according to the Spanish daily Marca on Friday. The World Cup star revealed his desire to leave the Estadio Ruiz de Lopera earlier this week, and now a move away seems imminent.
"I have achieved everything that is possible at Betis," Joaquin said.
"I have told (Betis coach Javier) Irureta that it is time for me to leave for another club."
And that other club is now likely to be Valencia, with an 18 million euro plus left-sided midfielder Mario Regueiro bid lined up.

Betis tell Valencia to up bid for Joaquin

Real Betis have told Valencia they're willing to do business over winger Joaquin - but have rejected their opening offer.
Valencia sports chief Amadeo Carboni tabled a bid of ?10 million cash plus Mario Regueiro this week, but Betis insisted Joaquin would not be allowed to leave for less than his buyout clause of ?40 million.
However, after a directors meeting yesterday, which included coach Jabo Irureta, president Pepe Leon and chief shareholder Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, it was agreed that Joaquin could be sold if the right offer arrived.
However, Betis won't tout Joaquin to potentially interested clubs, despite the winger's public demand yesterday to be allowed to leave. At yesterday's meeting, it was agreed that if Valencia didn't up their bid, then Joaquin would be asked to stay and see out his contract.
Complicating Valencia's bid further is that Regueiro has indicated he does not want to leave the Mestalla. |

Real Betis wing ace Joaquin is set to join Valencia.
The Spanish international winger stated his desire to leave Real Betis earlier this week, saying: "I have achieved everything that is possible at Betis.
"I have told (Betis coach Javier) Irureta that it is time for me to leave for another club."
And now, according to Spanish daily Marca, Betis have already agreed a deal to send Joaquin to the Mestalla.
The agreement is reportedly for 18 million Euros (?12.2million) plus Valencia's left-sided Uruguayan midfielder Mario Regueiro.
If Valencia can land Joaquin for that price it would represent a major coup - he was one of Europe's hottest properties during the last two summers. |

Valencia have tabled a bid for want-away Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi.
The Italy international's agent declared yesterday that he won't consider playing in Serie B and Valencia are understood to have made a concrete offer for the midfielder.
Valencia have offered a major cash bid plus Stefano Fiore in exchange for Camoranesi. Fiore has been a long-term target for Juve, who they see as a successor for Pavel Nedved.

Baraja out for 10 weeks

Valencia midfielder Ruben Baraja injured himself in training on Monday and will be out for ten weeks after tearing a muscle in his right leg. The news comes as a blow to Valencia who face Salzberg in the Champions League qualifier on Tuesday before kicking off their Liga campaign at the weekend.
Baraka limped out of training after he felt a sharp pain in the back of his leg, and subsequent scans revealed the 31-year-old had torn his muscle.
Valencia are also without summer signing Asier del Horno, who also has a muscle tear, and Roberto Ayala, who is in the middle of a contract dispute
