Albukhary Mall, Jalan Langgar, Alor Star, Kedah Darul Aman

From AsiaExplorers

Souq Albukhary is one of the latest malls to grace the city of Alor Star, Kedah. It was built by Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary, a local entrepreneur who made it big in the lorry business.

Souq Albukhary employs Islamic motifs in its design with elements borrowed from Mughal as well as Moorish architectural styles. This includes chhatris and minarets in the design and filigree screens to the walls. Souq Albukhary consists of a three-story air conditioned mall with Giant Hypermarket as the anchor tenant, linked to a non air-conditioned bazaar.

How to go to Souq Albukhary

Souq Albukhary is easily reachable from the North South Expressway. Take Exit 180 at Alor Star North. Immediately after the toll plaza, keep left, and turn left into Jalan Langgar at the next traffic junction. After a short distance, you will see Souq Albukhary on your right. Turn right at the traffic junction in front of the mall.
