KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysia's government ordered a Tamil-language daily to immediately halt publication for a month Friday as punishment for printing an image of Jesus Christ holding a cigarette, an official with the newspaper said.

S.M. Periasamy, general manager of Makkal Osai, which caters to Malaysia's ethnic Indian minority, said his office received the directive by fax from the Internal Security Ministry.

"Of course we are shocked by this. My entire staff are all in tears. They will lose a month of income," Periasamy said, adding that the newspaper would abide by the order but plans to appeal the suspension.

Ministry officials in this Muslim-majority nation could not immediately be reached for comment.

The newspaper had said it published the photo by mistake Tuesday and carried a front-page apology Thursday.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said Thursday that the picture was hurtful and an insult to Christians. Kuala Lumpur archbishop, Murphy Pakiam, criticized the picture as a "desecration," but later accepted the newspaper's apology.

In Malaysia, it is useless to apology ... you going to be punished for the mistake even if you have apology. You must become Muslims first, knock your head on the floor a few times and then "bertaubat", only then the Government will accept your "apology".

Even the Archbishop of Christian Community have accepted that this incident was a mistake done by a single person and does not hold the whole newspaper in account for this. I don't see why Malaysian Government, run by Muslims who have NOTHING to do with Jesus have any authority to punish the newspaper.

Meanwhile, in India, the actor Bollywood - Salman Khan have been sentence to 5 years in Jail after the Court have turn down his appeal. He was charged with the offence of poaching.

This guy was reported to be offered the role of Sri Rama in latest attempt by Bollywood to bridge the gap between Hindus and Muslims by getting a Muslim actor to play of the Hindusm's religious symbol - Sri Rama. He was also charged of drunk driving and running down homeless person a few years back, I believe.

Well, probably Salman Khan was practising how to hunt deers for the movie when he was caught.

To play a role like Sri Rama, you must AT LEAST have the courtesy of following the Law as Sri Rama was a law-binding person.

JODHPUR (AFP) - The future of a 12-day-old baby girl born to an Indian surrogate mother hung in legal limbo Wednesday after the Japanese couple who planned to take her home divorced.

Manji Yamada was born last month after eggs from an Indian donor were fertilised using the Japanese man's sperm and implanted in the womb of the surrogate Indian mother.

Her biological father split from his wife after the fertilisation process, and his former spouse no longer wants the baby.
In the absence of a surrogacy law in India, the child -- who is an Indian citizen -- will have to be adopted by her Japanese father Ikufumi Yamada, 45.

Sad ... sign of end of times. When mothers willing to children for money.

KATHMANDU (AFP) - Some 50,000 people have been forced to flee after monsoon rains washed away a dam in southern Nepal and were taking refuge in makeshift shelters, schools and temples, an official said Wednesday.

The dam on the Saptakoshi river burst Monday following heavy downpours, government disaster management official Suman Ghimire said, adding that rescue teams of locals and security personnel were helping victims.

"Five villages have been flooded and the residents have been evacuated," said Ghimire.

Nepal's new Maoist Prime Minister Prachanda was travelling to the flooded Sunsari district bordering India, 200 kilometres (125 miles) southeast of the capital Kathmandu to check on rescue efforts, Ghimire said.

Hmph ... Nepal people rejected their King and choose Moaists (Godless) group as their new Government (last month if not mistaken), Mother Nature pulls Her protection of the region.

I don't remember this region have suffers this sort of calamity before ... till the Moaists took over. Sorry, I feel no pity for them.

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Yoga can reduce hot flashes and night sweats among women going through menopause, and also appears to sharpen their mental function, researchers from India report.

After eight weeks, women in the yoga group showed a significant reduction in hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances, while the women in the control group did not, Dr. R. Chattha, of the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana in Bangalore, India, and colleagues found.

Both groups showed improvements in a test of attention and concentration, although improvement in the yoga group was significantly greater. In a test of memory and intelligence with 10 components, the yoga group improved on eight, while the control group improved on six. Improvements were significantly greater in the yoga group than in the control group on seven of the subtests.

"The present study shows the superiority of yoga over physical activity in improving the cognitive functions that could be attributed to emphasis on correctness in breathing, synchronizing breathing with body movements, relaxation and mindful rest," the researchers suggest.

Well, there is nothing to be surprised about this. Yoga have been practised for centuries in India and it have been giving Indians a lot of health beneficts. But for the last 200 years or so, Westerners have been trying to abolish this and many other systems like this, by stating that it is a "unclean" practise. But as time goes, we can see that Yoga, like many other practises in the systems which comes from India (like meditations, Ayurvedic and many more) are based on actual beneficts and not some placebo effects.

Well, one thing for sure, the Vaticans won't like this news. It's unchristianity news.
