Taiwan Drama - Snow Angel (Xue Tian Shi)

This is one of the slower Taiwanese dramas that I have seen, with a slow introduction to the characters. The plot of the drama was obvious as the theme song played: namely a love triangle between two brothers and a girl. Ji Teng (Toro) plays the younger brother of Xin Feng, who was thought to have drowned while they tried to escape from an orphanage from hell. This incident lead to the separation and different lives of both brothers.

Ji Teng was adopted by a ranch manager, and Xin Feng by a wealthy business tycoon. His daughter, Xue Tong, is a lively and stubborn young girl who believes in living for the moment. Ji Teng and Xue Tong's paths cross at a night market, and she is astounded by his personality and principles, while he is interested in her outlook and characteristics. Xin Feng has always been in love with Xue Tong, and harbours hopes of one day becoming her husband.

As Ji Teng has been abandoned from young, he has no trust in love anymore, until he realises that Xue Tong is the one person that he wants to appreciate and spend the rest of his life with. Upon realisation, he rushes to the church where Xin Feng and Xue Tong are about to exchange their rings, and brings her away on a white horse. They begin their life as a couple, forever running away from Xin Feng.

At this time as well, Xin Feng realises that Ji Teng is his brother. Things worsen as Xin Feng corners Ji Teng and Xue Tong, and the couple decide to jump off the cliff so that they can forever be together... However, this was not to be as not only did they survive the fall, Ji Teng ends up with amnesia, and Xue Tong becomes blind. The story continues...

Ji Teng / Ji Gang

23 years old.

A pasture stable hand抯 son. Actually, he is Xing Feng's missing/separated younger brother of many years, Xiao Lei. Due to an unexpected incident, he was accidentally saved by Ji Da Shan and becomes Ji Da Shan's son. Has an arrogant and wild personality, even though he didn't receive any high level education but his understanding of horses doesn't lose to that of experts. As a result of the strong conscious feeling of being abandoned when he was small, he detests the word "father." In order to save money to buy the pasture so that his beloved white horse "Shen Bao" will be able to run freely, he works at the pasture during the day and at night, he would go to the Pub to work as a bartender. When he is "performing", he will always attract a crowd of girls that are looking for boyfriends. Towards this, he would have no care at all but his unexpected meeting with Xue Tong causes his life to start having changes. In the end, when he meets with Xing Feng, who is his rival in love and also elder brother, Ji Teng is confronted with his life's biggest challenge.

Innocent, naïve, sharply differentiates between like and don't like, grows up in an excellent environment, lavished with all the riches and glamours of the world, but because of her high class position, she would experience loneliness and emptiness. She understands that those friends that are around her gets close to her because they would want something which leads to her being pampered and stubborn, doing whatever she pleases to do. Even though her relationship with her unrelated brother, Xing Feng is extremely good, but she couldn't accept her father's demand for her to get married with Xing Feng

The manager of the Public Relations' department at Yong Ji Enterprise. Deals with things and reasons with clarity, is Xing Feng's partner at work. She was college classmates with Xing Feng in the U.S. and also had a romantic relationship with him before. Until after they returned back to the country, when she becomes Xue Tong's tutor, only then did she realize that the one that Xing Feng loves the most is Xue Tong. Elaine took the initiative and broke up with Xing Feng and entered into Yong Ji Enterprise. However, she couldn't bear the things that Xing Feng is silently doing for Xue Tong and from the love that she has for Xing Feng, she starts to secretly carry out revenge towards Xue Tong. She also becomes the biggest enemy for Xing Feng on the business front

Qi Jia Shi

Yong Ji Enterprise's chairman, Xue Tong's father. Due to a car accident that happened because of him all those years ago, it brought about the separation of Xing Feng and his younger brother, Xiao Gang. Because he was filled with shame/guilt, he adopted Xing Feng. At the same time, he admires Xing Feng's obedience and cleverness. He even educated Xing Feng to become his heir and decided to entrust his only daughter, Xue Tong, in his care. From his viewpoint, only Xing Feng would be able to protect Xue Tong.

Ji Jie

21 years old.

Stable hand, Ji Da Shan's real son. He wholeheartedly wants to make more money to change the current ordinary situation that he is in. He is very good with numbers and could probably calculate everything to the smallest bit. He would negotiate and haggle but he adores and worships Ji Teng very much. A great supporter of Ji Teng and Xue Tong. He understands that no matter what he does he won't be able to compare with Ji Teng, so that's why he is willing to be Ji Teng's follower. Has a secret crush on Ma Xian. Later when he sees that Ma Xian sacrificed her life for Ji Teng, in his sorrow, he becomes the person that will betray Ji Teng and Xue Tong

Ma Qian

20 years old.

Has a bright and clear singing voice, healthy tanned color skin, has a strong appearance compared to that of Princess Xue Tong. Innocent, bold, and straightforward personality. Is deeply in love with Ji Teng. Works as a singer at the village's club. Later, under Xing Feng's interception, she becomes idol singing partners with Ji Teng, who lost his memory. For the purpose of being together with Ji Teng, she promised Xing Feng, to keep the love between Ji Gang and Xue Tong quiet. In the end, for the purpose saving Ji Teng, she sacrifices her own life.

Ji Da Shan

50 years old.

A stable hand at the pasture. He brought Ji Gang home all those years ago and regarded Ji Gang as his own born son, bringing him up until he's an adult. He is very tolerant toward Ji Gang's lonely personality. What he is most happy about is that his two sons would be able to have a little wine with him. He would always use the stories of life to guide Ji Gang and is a very optimistic person. Even though he didn't approve of Ji Gang and Xue Tong's love in the beginning, but later when he saw that the two of them loves each other deeply, he lend them a hand and helped them to move away from the range of Xing Feng's power.

On an empty street with no one about, the neon light is still flashing endlessly, shining on an extremely large idol celebrity poster, and this is idol celebrity, Ji Teng's poster. Standing in front of the poster is a young man with confused and desolate emotions shining from his eyes. He stands there unmoving, staring at the poster. This person is not any other person, he is Ji Teng, is the Ji Teng who became an idol star after losing his memory. The Ji Teng at this time is being attacked by all the memories before and after his amnesia. Faced with his own poster, he is unable to determine who he truly is. Who is he exactly? He doesn't know. He just vaguely seems to sense that there is someone who is looking for him. Who this person is, he is also not sure. The only thing that he is sure of is that as long as he can find the snow angel, then all the confusion that is surrounding him will be solved. So, what is snow angel? He also don't know. At this moment, there is a familiar yet also seems strange song that slowly starts to come through his ear
