Christians treats Gospel as Word of God ...

The account in the 22nd chapter of Luke where Jesus (pbuh) withdrew from the disciples, prayed, and returned to find them fast asleep.

The logic in timely manner were:

- Jesus withdrew from diciples

- Jesus prayed

- He returned, everyone fast asleep

- Somehow 'someone' who were asleep can observe this and put this incident in Gospel.

Who, I wondered, could have possibly observed him praying (while it wasn't possible because everyone fast asleep).. and include this incident in Gospel of Luke.

Ask honestly to yourself, who could ever observe that incident? A ghost? Could you ever answer this 13friday?

Do you still wantt o continue in your belief that has a big doubt of the authenticity?

I dont understand what you said... seem you didn't care to read my posting.

But I'm gonna repeat once again,

"... Jesus found all disciples were fast asleep", (this is written in Gospel)

So if everyone asleep, who possibly can witness Jesus prayed? None..of course

So if none, nobody witness it, so how come someone can write that incident into Gospel?

Simple little question 13Friday... but I think big problem, right?

Indonesians ask if calamities are a divine rebuke
By Tom McCawley | Correspondent of The Christian Science Monitor

JAKARTA, INDONESIA ? Shockwaves from the string of natural disasters over the past 19 months, including numerous earthquakes, two tsunamis, and an imminent volcanic eruption, have reached even Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the state palace.
," says Dino Patti Djalal, a presidential spokesman. "But it's the last thing we need when facing natural disasters."

The giant Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2004 that struck 11 countries seemed to leave in its wake a series of natural disasters. Since then, Indonesia has faced deadly floods, landslides, and parching droughts. One week ago Monday an earthquake struck off the coast of Java island, leaving at least 668 dead. Sunday, a 6.1 magnitude quake off Sulawesi island sent coastal residents fleeing inland - but no tsunami materialized.

In the scramble to explain the apparent wrath of nature, science is jostling against religion and even supernatural beliefs. National newspapers have carried full front-page color diagrams of the crashing tectonic plates beneath the 17,000-island Indonesian archipelago. On the editorial pages, writers have called for "national introspection," quoting religious leaders calling for repentance.

The president's political opponents, such as the well-known soothsayer Permadi, have eagerly spread the notion of a divine warning. Speaking on Metro-TV Wednesday, he warned that the president was angering nature. "He [the president] has 'hot hands' which are causing these calamities," said Permadi, a legislator in the national parliament. In the late 1990s, Permadi, of Yudhoyono's rival political party the PDI-P, also foretold that aliens in UFOs would arrive to save Earth.

According to the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI), a national polling agency, the president has reason to be worried. The LSI released a survey in July based on a sample of 440 people in earthquake-afflicted Yogy akarta concluding that the public had begun to interpret the natural disasters "mystically, irrationally, or spiritually."

The survey concluded that 78.1 percent of those polled believed the disasters were a "warning from nature to Indonesia." The LSI's executive director, Denny Ali, said to reporters that the president's political opponents were indeed pushing the idea that he had helped trigger the disasters.

"In Indonesia, people believe in the supernatural," says Muhammad Qodary, an LSI researcher. "And the more people believe [the disasters] don't come from scientific explanations, the more they'll look to the supernatural."

Mr. Qodary says that those polled tended to explain the natural disasters based on either religious or pantheistic beliefs.

In Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim-majority country, all citizens by law must subscribe to at least one of five state-sanctioned religions.

Pantheism endures in Indonesia

Aside from the 88 percent Muslim majority, Indonesia has Christians, Hindus, and Buddhists. But religions imported in the past 1,000 years have in many places blended with pantheistic beliefs and nature worship. Qodari, who helped research the LSI survey, believes pantheism may be strongest on the most populous island of Java.

Hundreds of villagers chose to follow Mr. Maridjan's example, angering some scientists who warned of an imminent eruption. Maridjan, instead, chose to pray and lead a procession up the mountain, claiming that he was told by a nearby sultan, the late Hamengkubuwono IX, to guard the volcano and take care of the villagers.

Maridjan's credibility jumped after the government relaxed its alert warning in June, allowing thousands of villagers to return to their homes.

5.5 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Simuelue, Aceh

By Mohd Nasir Yusoff

BANDA ACEH, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Thousands of people panicked when an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale jolted Sinabang village in Simeulue District, Aceh in the wee hours of Saturday.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which rocked Sinabang at around 3.54 a.m, was located at Sinabang, head of the Mata Ie Meteorological and Geophysics Office (BMG) Syahnan, said.

The tremor caused no damage to buildings but forced local residents to rush out of their home for safety.

The tectonic earthquake lasting for several seconds, was at coordinate 2.48 degrees northern latitude and 96.36 degrees eastern longitude with a depth of around 20 km below the sea level.

"We rushed out of our home and were ready to go to a hilly area, as we are still traumatic with the tsunami which devastated Aceh on Dec 26, 2004," said Asparuddin, a local resident as quoted by Antara news agency.

The tremor was also felt in Tapaktuan, South Aceh District, rudely waking up residents who were soundly asleep at that time.

Indonesia, a nation of more than 17,000 islands, lies on a zone known as the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is prone to earthquakes and volcanic activity.

Among the worst earthquakes hitting the country was the 8.9 magnitude earthquake followed by subsequent tsunami in Aceh Province and Nias, North Sumatra in 2004 which killed over 168,000 people, and the 5.9 magnitude quake hitting Yogyakarta last May, killing at least 5,700 people.

Malaysian Students Not Affected By Mild Quakes

JAKARTA, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Two earthquakes about a few hours apart at Yogyakarta Saturday morning hardly affected Malaysian students in the province to go about their daily activities.

The first quake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale was reported at 12.40 am while the second one with a magnitude of 2.8 at 4.41 am.

The Malaysian Embassy had contacted the students in Yogyakarta and was told that they hardly felt the tremor in both quakes.

"All of them are safe," an embassy spokesman told Bernama today.

Then Indonesia Meteorological and Geophysics Agency identified the epicentre of the first quake about 20 kilometres north of Yogyakarta and about 10 km deep.

Both quakes brought jitters to residents in the affected areas who fled their houses for safety.

Yogyakarta is still reeling from the devastation from a quake on May 17 which claimed about 6,000 lives and made about 100,000 people homeless.

The quake then measured between 5.9 and 6.2 on the Richter scale.

The reason of those Quakes

"The life of this world is alluring to those who reject faith, and they scoff at those who believe. But the righteous will be above them on the Day of Resurrection; for Allah bestows His abundance without measure on whom He will" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:212)

Yeh! You live on that dream till domsday. Day of resurrection is the dream of Muslims which dream would remain a dream in their mind forever. Mohammed knew such hope and dream would boost the oral of the desert people who had not enjoyed life as those in other parts of the wolrd during the 6th century. Now Muslims who get to enjoy everything outside the Islamic nation had yet to realize that it is a fruitless dream that never will be fulfilled. Allah is not GOD nor Mohammed was a true prophet of GOD. Period.

Why the Hindu hatred towards Muslims?

An Indian Muslim says:

1. Have Muslims eaten into any one抯 job. Rather it is otherwise in India.

2. The Muslim countries in the Gulf were the first to open job avenues for Indians and still majority of the 2.5 million working in these countries are Hindu but no one cares about that.

3. Mostly the people who are vehmently anti-Muslim on the internet are Gujaratis and most often NRIs. Is it a coincidence that they are mostly the Shah, Parekh etc who are not Hindu but Gujarati Jains like Togadia who lead the Hindu movement and even Hindus are not exactly aware that they are Jains (an agnostic religion) leading the movement of Hindus. The same community that is on the forefront against Muslims because of their emphasis on non-violence that brings them in conflict with 慻oat/bull-killing Muslims

Prejudices is abundant where ever you are in this God's green earth, but what is sad now is that terrorism has been committed in the name of God and all manner of justifications have been given.

Do i speak only of islamists? No. But a large majority of headlines now are done by muslims. Yet no one issues a fatwa to stop the madness.

Is silence, acceptance and approval?

The ball is in the muslims court to make things right again, and not blame anything or anyone for their imagined grief.

More Than 3,000 With Najib To Pray For Peace

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Heavy downpour sweeping Kuala Lumpur late in the evening did not dampen the spirit of more than 3,000 Malaysians to attend a special prayer at the Masjid Negara here, held in conjunction with the 49th National Day.

The ceremony, also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and several other ministers, started with Maghrib prayer, led by National Mosque Imam Datuk Kamaruddin Zakaria.

This was followed by Yassin verse recital and a special prayer.

The ceremony was an annual event held during the Independence Month to pray for the country's peace and prosperity.

Muslim bloc should do more to fight graft, says Badawi

Published: Tuesday, 29 August, 2006, 10:46 AM Doha Time

KUALA LUMPUR: The world's biggest Muslim grouping should do more to fight corruption, which is worsening poverty in the Muslim world, Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said yesterday.

Abdullah, the current chair of the 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), said that wiping out graft was essential to secure a better future for the world's Muslims.

"I would like the see the OIC play a more active role in the global fight against corruption," he told the grouping's first forum on fighting graft.

Taking his anti-corruption message to the rest of the OIC nations, Badawi said there were no quick fixes to completely eradicate the problem.

"I am deeply saddened to note that Muslim countries, as a group, do not rate very highly when it comes to perceptions of corruption," he said at the opening of the group's first forum on graft.

"I believe that many of the development challenges that the Muslim Ummah (community) faces have their roots in problems of poverty, poor governance and limited education opportunities," he said.

Citing Transparency International's 2005 report, he said the Muslim country with the best record could only rank 29th out of 158 countries surveyed.

"More than half of the bottom 10 places were occupied by Muslim countries," he said. Chad was ranked as the most corrupt."The current condition that Muslim countries find themselves is deeply alarming and distressing," he said in a speech.

The 57-member OIC comprises 1.8bn people, ranging from wealthy Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to poor African states such as Chad and Sudan.

Transparency International said the perception that Muslim nations were among the most corrupt had nothing to do with Islam.

"It's more to do with ... the income level," David Nussbaum, chief executive of the Berlin-based group, told Reuters. "Some of the countries right at the bottom of the list are very poor."

Abdullah, who came to office in late 2003, convincingly won elections in 2004 after campaigning to clean up corruption and cronyism.

He has charged a minister for land with corruption and dropped another minister from cabinet and his party for money politics, but critics say he could do more.

OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, in a prepared speech delivered at the forum, put the blame on unethical multinational firms doing business in Muslim countries.

"I also wish to identify the role of MNCs, who are responsible for spreading the curse of corruption," he said. - Agencies
