Yg aku tau MiG-31 Foxhound nie improvised version of MiG-25 Foxbat. Capability mungkin same atau lebih skit dr MiG-25..... |

The Mig31 is vastly different from the old Mig25 varient electronically, structurally and with modern afternburning turbofans ( instead of turbojets like the Mig25) although it is based on the airframe of the older model..
Mig 31 is quite a capable interceptor in its next generation form the Mig31M (which was however, canceled in the mid 90's)..the M version was to be equpped with the R-37 , a 300 km range air to air misslie to replace the AA-9 Amos ( Phoenix AAM counterpart )....It was the first fighter aicraft in the world to have a electronically scanned phased array radar ( The "Zaslon" or Nato code name "Flash Dance") that was inservice since the mid to late 80's...
only Russia is currently using them the Mig31 (rumours are about that China, Iran even Syria order them but not confirmed) ...The ones in Russian service is being upgraded to a varient called the Mig-31B...this uses some upgraded equipment from the M version ..
..the Mig31 is expensive to operate and quite limited in its roles ( pure long range intercepor) ...as such no offical export orders for the type yet.. the Su-27/30 family has more potential for growth and multi-role capabilities, thus it is more popular choice for export...

In LIMA 91' , a Mig31 made an appearance at the static display ..I got the oppertunity to climb to the cockpit and "talk" to the pilot onboard who was comunicating with the help of a English -Russian dictionary!!!

MiG-31 is essentially a luxury item for TUDM...a basically pure interceptor which is sitting duck in close combat |

Yang tu rasanya lebih kepada MiG-25 kot...tapi radar power tinggi tu cuma lebih untuk 'burn through' jamming aje...radar MiG-25 range dia lagi pendek dari baseline APG-63 Eagle. |

The Zaslon A radar of the MiG-31 has 200km range. It can track 10 targets and engaging four of them. BARS have 300km range tracking 20 targets and engaging eight of them. |
