Villa set for Nerazzurri test
Aston Villa are to take on Serie A champions Inter Milan in a pre-season friendly at Villa Park on August 4.
The game will bring back memories of Villa's two UEFA Cup ties with the Nerazzurri in the 1990s which the midlands club won via a penalty shoot-out. Villa manager Martin O'Neill said: "The game with Inter will provide us with a significant test at a vital time in our preparations for the new season." |

Villa Secure Davies - But Only On Loan
Aston Villa have finally secured the services of West Brom抯 highly rated defender Curtis Davies, but only on loan.
Martin O扤eill (pictured) had made no secret of his desire to bring in Davies from their Midlands rivals, having had three transfer bids already rejected by The Baggies.
The England Under 21 international signed a new four year deal at West Brom in 2006, but after the club failed to gain promotion back into the Premiership at the end of last season, Davies handed in a transfer request.
This Premiership duo Tottenham and Aston Villa, however when Spurs bought Younes Kaboul from Auxerre, Villa were the stand-alone suitors for the centre-back.
Davies had yet to figure for The Baggies this season, further heightening the thought that he could make a permanent move away from the club.
