Keane has top two on his mind

Roy Keane is relishing the chance to test his managerial ability against the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho this season.
The Sunderland boss knows he is still in the infancy of his managerial career but cannot wait for the challenge of playing mind games with his old Manchester United manager Ferguson and Chelsea's Mourinho after leading the Black Cats back into the Premiership last season.
He said: "There is a part for mind games. It isn't just football. Alex Ferguson and Mourinho have both done it lots and I enjoy watching it.

"It can have an impact on how the team plays and you have seen that with Mourinho. He does that very well and a lot of people underestimate Sir Alex.

"It's good and it takes the pressure off the players. A manager's job is getting the best out a team. Mourinho is a very good example of it and does it well."

He added: "I am relishing the challenge. I enjoyed my relationship with Championship managers. Having a drink after the game helped you see a different side to them.

"But the Premiership is more lethal. It won't be that friendly. You will have to ask the others why that is but I want to upstage all of them.

"Hopefully we will upset a few of them just like when we lose and I get upset. I relish the intensity. You need an edge. There is more responsibility on my shoulders now. It is different to being a player."

Galway 0-4 Sunderland
Sunderland completed their pre-season tour of Ireland on a high note with a comfortable victory over Galway.

Michael Chopra opened the scoring after just six minutes, latching onto a pass from Dickson Etuhu to confidently volley over the advancing Gary Rogers.

Kieran Richardson grabbed his first goal for the club since signing from Manchester United, cutting in from the left wing to fire home 10 minutes into the second half.

Manager Roy Keane made numerous changes in the second half and substitute Stern John set up David Connolly for the third before Connolly returned the favour as John side-footed home the visitor's fourth.

Roy Keane is about to make an amazing bid to sign Andy Cole, according to reports.
The Sunderland boss is desperate to land the striker, released from his contract at Portsmouth this week, to re-create the famous Manchester United strike force of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

The Sunday People are reporting that Cole would be willing to make the move to the Stadium of Light despite beginning his career and the Black Cats arch-rivals Newcastle.

Cole, 36, feels he has at least one season left him in at the top flight.
