Did you know that the silver colored fillings that dot most people teeth contribute to a range of health problems from fatigue to immunity suppression to neurological diseases such as Parkinson's and Almeizer's?

Read this:

BREAKING NEWS!  Proven: Dental Fillings Leak Mercury!             Our worst fears have been confirmed. Dentists have been ignorantly poisoning us.
穂/size]        Since 2003 US law requires all Californian dentists to INFORM patients that amalgam (mercury dental fillings) can cause BIRTH defects & other reproductive HARM, while ROOT CANALS, CROWNS & BRIDGES can cause CANCER. (Proposition 65, Senate Bill 134, California,USA). CAN THE ABSENCE OF A DENTAL HEALTH WARNING IN MALAYSIA MAKE DENTISTRY SAFE?

穂/size]        16 American States have since changed their DENTAL LAWS to protect the public.
1)         Alabama (HB 495)                      9)        Missouri (HB 852)
2)         Arizona (HB 2467)                      10)        New Hampshire (HB 1251)
3)         California (SB 134)                     11)        New York (A 05932)
4)         Florida (SB 1324)                       12)        Ohio (LSC 124 1555)
5)         Georgia (HB 442)                       13)        Oregon (SB 681 & SB 695)
6)         Illinois (SB 455)                         14)        Rhode Island (S 661Aaa)
7)         Kentucky (SB 141)                     15)        Washington (HB 1273 & SB 5066)
8)         Maine (LD 1409)                        16)        Virginia (SB 187)
Status of Local, State and Federal Mercury Product Legislation and Laws 2003-2004 Legislative Sessions.
It may take 30 years or more for the whole USA to be amalgam-free. Malaysian dental laws may take up to 50 years or more to be changed. So don抰 expect your dentists to agree with you just yet.

穂/size]        According to W.H.O. in 1991, the main source of mercury exposure in humans is from dental amalgam fillings. Seafood consumption contributes approximately 2.3 micrograms of mercury per day, while a single tooth filling can release approximately 17 micrograms of mercury daily.

// Boleh tak bagi tau dari mana dapat artikel nie???

// dental amalgam is safe!!!~
The safety of dental amalgam has been endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation, The multiple Sclerosis Society, The American dental Association, The World health organization, and the magazine and organization "Consumer Reports".

// saya dapat ni dari US Food & Drug Administration...

Questions and Answers on Dental Amalgam

1. What is dental amalgam?
Dental amalgam is the silver-colored material used to fill (restore) teeth that have cavities. Dental amalgam is made of two nearly equal parts: a powder containing silver, tin, copper, zinc and other metals, and liquid mercury.
Dental amalgam has been used to fill cavities for over 100 years. It is easy to use, strong, durable, and relatively inexpensive.

2. What is FDA抯 role in dental amalgam?
Dental amalgams are medical devices and are regulated by FDA抯 Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). CDRH is responsible for ensuring that medical devices are reasonably safe and effective and that the labeling has adequate directions for use and any appropriate warnings.

3. What are the safety concerns about dental amalgam?
When amalgam fillings are placed in teeth or removed from teeth, they release mercury vapor. Mercury vapor is also released during chewing. Some people believe that this mercury vapor can cause health problems, including neurological disorders, in certain sensitive individuals.

4. Is there evidence that dental amalgam is unsafe?
Since the 1990s, FDA and other government agencies (CDC, NIH) have reviewed the scientific literature looking for links between dental amalgams and health problems. To date, the agencies have found no scientific studies that demonstrate dental amalgams harm children or adults. But we continue to review the literature and ask experts their opinions on the safety of dental amalgam.
In September 2006, an advisory panel to the FDA reviewed FDA抯 research and heard presentations from the public about the benefits and risks of mercury and amalgam. This was a combined panel of the Dental Products Panel from FDA抯 Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), and the Peripheral and Central Nervous System Drugs Advisory Committee from FDA抯 Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER).
The panel generally agreed that there is no evidence that dental amalgams cause health problems in the majority of the population. However, the panel did raise concerns about the lack of knowledge concerning the effects of dental amalgam on specific groups, including pregnant women, small children, and people who are especially sensitive to mercury.
During the meeting, FDA presented a draft white paper that reviewed the scientific literature from 1997 to the present on the safety of dental amalgam. FDA asked the panel for its opinion on this paper. The panel recommended that the FDA reevaluate the literature. Specifically, they wanted to know if there was additional information available regarding the effects of dental amalgam on pregnant women, small children, and sensitive individuals, and on exposure levels during initial placement or removal of amalgam fillings.
You can read the summary of the panel meeting at: http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/meetings/090606-summary.html
In addition, a complete transcript is available at: http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/ac/cdrh06.html#dentalproductspanel

5. Are there other dental filling materials that can be used instead of amalgam?
Yes, there are several other types of dental fillings.
Resin composites are tooth-colored materials made from powdered glass and resin compounds. When composites were initially introduced, they were not very strong and were used primarily in the front teeth. Newer composites are stronger, although they still tend to wear more than metal-based materials and generally need earlier replacement.
Glass ionomer cement is also a tooth-colored material. It is not usually used for long-term fillings because it breaks easily.
Porcelain, gold, and other metals are also used as filling materials. Gold and porcelain are used for inlays, veneers, crowns, and bridges. These fillings are made outside the mouth and cemented into place after they are formed.

6. Should I have my amalgam fillings removed and replaced with these other materials?
There are no scientific studies that show that having dental amalgams is harmful, or that removing your amalgam fillings will improve your health.
If you are concerned about the possible health effects of amalgam fillings, you should talk with your dentist or doctor.

7. If I have a cavity, should I choose to get amalgam fillings?
If you are concerned about whether or not dental amalgam is appropriate for you, you should talk with your dentist or doctor.
Dental amalgam fillings are very strong and durable, they last longer than most other types of fillings, and they are relatively inexpensive. You may want to weigh these advantages against the possibility that dental amalgam could pose health risks that are not yet scientifically known.

8. Should pregnant women and young children use or avoid amalgam fillings?
The recent advisory panel believed that there was not enough information to answer this question.
Some other countries follow a 損recautionary principle

Article nie dari kawan saya, Dr HH Chan. Dia specializes in treating dental amalgam poisoning. (Dr. Chan, former victim of amalgam poisoning for 30 years, is now a crusader against toxic dentistry).

Amalgam mengandungi heavy metals seperti mercury, silver dan nickel. Tak akan heavy metals nie tak bahaya dlm badan kita.:stp:

Ganti dgn composite.

REPLACING amalgam dental fillings with COMPOSITE fillings can often IMPROVE your HEALTH.
(Don抰 fool with Mercury: World抯 2nd Most Poisonous Heavy Metal. Do it right or don抰 do it)

DRILLING out a MERCURY FILLING releases 4,000 mcg of mercury. It can make you VERY SICK. It must be done with a special TOOL from Sweden, which sucks mercury vapors & dust out DIRECTLY from the CAVITY.

**For your protection, you MUST go on a Special Detox program, which includes ANTI-AMALGAM drops, Super-Detox tablets, Anti-oxidants & Fibres 1 week before dental work, to lower the mercury level in your body. (Read Web-page, 揥arning: Don抰 Remove Your Fillings Before

// is dental amalgam safe?? --> soklan ni dah lama ada.. the answer is yes, but no study has proven that amalgam to be 100% safe.. sbb tu, mmg ada golongan yang anti-amalgam ni..

// mmg amalgam ni ada mercury, silver, etc... but it has been used for over 200 years. this is because it is easy to use, inexpensive, strong and durable.. the form of mercury used in amalgam is primarily inorganic elemental mercury..mercury is used to bind the metals together and to provide a strong, hard durable filling.

// mercury from dental amalgams that has been ingested into the stomach is poorly absorbed through the digestive system and is not an important factor in raising the serum mercury level. In toxic doses its main effects are on the nervous system with absorption either through the skin or by inhalation.

// numerous studies have shown that the amount of mercury actually released by amalgam fillings is insignificant when compared to the amount consumed in numerous types of food, especially ocean caught fish. even though fish contains much more absorbable mercury (in the form of methyl mercury which is well absorbed in the gut), it takes a lot of fish eaten over a long time to bring serum mercury levels into the range where toxic effects are seen.

// alternatives to amalgam, such as cast gold restorations, porcelain, and composite resins are more costly. Gold restorations take longer to make, and porcelain and composite resins are esthetically appealing, but aren't as durable as amalgam in posterior (back) teeth However, composite compounds are constantly improving.

// What should be done with Amalgam fillings?
Removing amalgam fillings as a preventative measure is not recommended. It is an added expense to the patient and may increase body mercury levels for several months.

1. If you do not have any illness / symptoms or other reasons to suspect that you have or will get problems from your amalgam-fillings you are not recommended to have your amalgam-fillings exchanged. 1 It seems as if the great majority of the population belongs to this group.

2. The question which material to choose the next time an amalgam-filling needs to be replaced or when there is need for a new filling depends on your own decisions and what your dentist recommends.

3. If you have allergic and / or local oral symptoms from your amalgam-fillings, diagnosed by a physician and / (or) a dentist, it is usually recommended that you exchange these for a material you can tolerate. A very small minority of the population (less than 1 percent) seems to belong to this group.

4. If you have an illness with multiple symptoms and suspect that your dental amalgam fillings may be playing a role, you should know that there is ongoing debate whether nonallergic amalgam-related illness exists or not. Meanwhile science has not (yet) found a definite answer to this question.

// anyway, skang ni dentist cuba untuk kurangkan penggunaan amalgam.. the reasons are :-

1. concern about the environmental mercury-pollution
2. development and improvement of different tooth-coloured dental filling materials
3. the non-aesthetic appearance of amalgam.
4. when cavities need to be filled, the preparation of a cavity for an amalgam-filling often means loss of more healthy tooth-substance (a bigger hole must be drilled) than if composite or glass ionomer cement were to be used instead.

// Although amalgam has not been proven to be 100% safe, it has not been proven to cause disease either....

Amalgam has been proven to cause diseases but the manufacturers are denying it. It would cost them to lose billions of dollars in this industry. People who had them removed will notice great improvement in their health. They will notice their chronic problems will disappear.

Removing amalgam is dangerous. You must go to a knowlegeable dentist who specialises in this field. There are 3 of them whom I know of. They have a special tool to remove it.
A week before removal you have to take an antidote/ detox product. This is important to get rid of of the spillage of toxic heavy metals in your body. You should consult an expert before removing the amalgam.

EFFECTS OF MERCURY EXPOSURE
* Most Mercury is retained in the body's cells, not in the urine or blood.
* Highest concentrations are in the - kidney, liver and brain.
* High concentration also in the jaw bone and the soft tissue lining the mouth.
* Can cause a weakening in the wall of the small blood vessels, resulting in reduced blood supply to the tissues and reduced function and / or cell death.
* Heart function may be affected by Mercury and electrical currents from amalgam.
* Allergy to Mercury (amalgam) can cause elevated cholesterol levels.
* Even low levels of Mercury will destroy the walls of red blood cells.
* Mercury binds strongly to selenium, reducing blood selenium levels and thus increasing the rate of some cancers. Selenium is needed for a wide variety of enzyme functions.
* Mercury binds to haemoglobin in the blood and reduces its capacity to transport oxygen. This may be one of the causes of Chronic Fatigue.
* Mercury affects the immune system, creating an environment for other diseases to develop. Mercury binds to proteins, making them look like foreign material to the immune system. Auto- immune diseases may then ensue.
* Mercury may cause an increase in allergies, skin rashes and itching.
* Mercury causes leaky gut syndrome or gut infection syndrome
* Mercury can cross the placenta and concentrate in the foetus. It is transported via breast milk to concentrate in the body of the feeding infant. Prenatal exposure may cause developmental defects and neurological damage.
* Tissue levels of Mercury in the foetus, newborn and infant are directly proportional to the number of amalgam fillings in the mother's mouth.
MERCURY INDICATORS
Here are the indicators I suggest looking at in forming your own hypothesis about how chronic mercury poisoning may be affecting your health:

* Have you ever had mercury amalgam fillings in your teeth ? (also known as silver fillings)
* Does your history of chronic illness include a sequence of events where dental work involving mercury amalgam fillings precedes the development of symptoms ?
* Do you have mercury amalgam fillings and other metals such as gold in your mouth ?
* Do you have mercury amalgam underneath a gold crown ?
* Do you have root fillings that were sealed with N2 or other cements containing phenyl mercury as an antibacterial agent ?
* Have you ever worked in a dentist office or dental lab ?
* Have you had surgery for cancer where a mercury chloride solution was used as "peritoneal lavage", to clean the wound? Have you ever been injected with blood or vaccines preserved with thimerosal, and ethyl mercury compound ?
* Can you think of any other ways you may have been exposed to mercury? For example: a broken thermometer ? or calomel skin lotion from Mexico ? or frequently eating seafood or fish from a volcanic, industrial or mining area ?
* Do you suffer chronic yeast infections in your gut ? Also known as chronic Candida albicans ?
* Do you suffer other more obvious forms of metal allergy such as sensitivity to nickel jewellery ?
* Do you have persistent skin rashes and skin flaking that do not seem to stem from microbial infection ?
* Do you have reddened pads of the foot and/or hands ?

actually, process removing old amalgam from its cavity produces more exposure of mercury rather than let it stays kat situ jer tau tak? so, rugi jer rm90 tu... hehehe.. lagipun, none of dental filling material sekarang yang boleh lawan kekuatan amalgam... so, nothing to worry.. tak pernah dengar ada kes patient mati akibat ketoksikan mercury released by dental amalgam!

You have to visit the dentist who use the above tool. There are only 3 in Klang Valley using this method. You have to take an antidote and heavy metal removal supplement a week before and after removing the amalgam. Mercury caused degenerative diseases including cancer.  Heavy metals may damage our liver.
Prevention is better than cure. It is better to be safe and sorry.

There are many cases, proven cases that those who had removed their amalgam can see their health improve immediately.
Of course, those medical people will deny coz they make good money. The pharmaceutical drug companies make good money. Their greediness and ignorance caused their patients paying a hefty price for their health.

There is a lot of controversy when it comes to dental amalgam. Many people think that silver fillings are toxic and dangerous, but the truth about this mercury-based filling is not what you might expect. Although silver amalgam can be dangerous in some cases, and you have to check turkey teeth as it is effective for restoring teeth in most patients. If you have questions or concerns about your own dental health, schedule an appointment with your dentist immediately to discuss anything concerning your oral care.
