Manchester United to challenge Liverpool for Kuyt
Tomorrow's newspapers will claim that Manchester United have entered the race to sign Liverpool target Dirk Kuyt.
The highly-rated 26-year-old has apparently been identified by Sir Alex Ferguson as the ideal man to replace the departed Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Liverpool have been trying to negotiate a fee with Feyenoord for the striker who was linked with Chelsea only a few days ago.
Kuyt had hoped to secure a move to Anfield last week but nothing materialised and he had to report back for pre-season training with his club as a result.
If there's only a small difference in what we're prepared to pay and what Feyenoord are demanding, Reds chief executive Rick Parry could be prompted into stumping up the cash to try and prevent one of these rumours turning into a reality.

Transfer Rumours: July 06
Michael Carrick is set to become United's first summer signing, and the tabloids don't expect the Reds to hang around before bringing in further recruits.
No sooner had the news broken on Friday that Spurs had agreed to sell their star midfielder, than reports were circulating that United were still chasing Marcos Senna and Fernando Torres of Spain.
Brazilian-born midfielder Senna came up against United for Villarreal last season, and is allegedly subject of a £4million bid, while Sir Alex is still supposedly chasing Torres despite the player's claims that he would remain with Atletico Madrid.
Rumours before Carrick's arrival had suggested that United were chasing Argentina's Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez, both of whom ply their trade with Corinthians in Brazil.
