Mariah Scores Five Months At #1!
Congratulations to Mariah for topping the Brazilian Airplay Chart for 20 consecutive weeks with "I Want To Know What Love Is!" Mariah's cover of the Foreigner classic has been at #1 since October 2009 and it is the biggest hit of 2010 so far in Brazil. "I Want To Know What Love Is" also has the distinction of being the longest chart-topper in the history of the Crowley Broadcast Analysis.
Many thanks to the Brazilian fans who have supported Mariah! Great job!!

Billboard: "Angels Cry" Remix Debuts at #30 on AC
Mariah Carey makes her 28th visit to the Adult Contemporary chart, as "Angels Cry" starts at No. 30. The song marks the first appearance on the list for featured artist Ne-Yo.
The ballad is the second song from Carey's album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" to reach the tally, following the No. 10-peaking "I Want to Know What Love Is." Carey had not charted two tracks from the same album on Adult Contemporary since the title cut from "Butterfly" (No. 11) and "My All" (No. 18) in 1997-98.
First released on "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" without Ne-Yo, the new version of "Angels Cry" previews Carey's duets/remix album "Angels Advocate," due March 30.

^But this was for the official chart BEFORE Brazil had Billboard. After that, they created a Brasil Hot 100 Airplay, and at the time Halo was already old. Just like the Canadian top 100 and the Canadian Hot 100.
Still, Halo was #1 for over 12 weeks in the NEW CHART. So Mariah holds the record for the new chart, But Beyoncé holds it overall since it was #1 for 24 weeks.
so maknanya Beyonce 'halo' tu tak diambik kira sebagai 'longest #1' sebab lagu tu TOP sebelum Brazil ada official chart..while with Mariah 'IWTKWLI' dah ada official Brazil Billboard chart, sebab tu dia hold that '#1 longest' title in the NEW CHART sekarang..tapi overall, beyonce still holds it for 24 weeks..but dorang tak ambik kira sebab separate old and new chart i think..so thats what happened..! saya pun baru tahu..
by the way my brazil friend also said that Backstreet Boys got the 'longest chart-topper at #1' for #1 and #2..and 'HALO' #3, tapi again like I said, this is from old chart before Brazil had Billboard so dorang tak kira..technically Mariah kiranya hold it la for 20 weeks..but kira dorang terus buat dunno kat old chart tu sekarang..ughhh..bodoh tul.. |
