Mikel Arteta's late penalty was saved as Arsenal and Fulham drew 3-3

Best of the Match

Man of the match: Theo Walcott. He may not have got on the scoresheet, but hehad a hand in two of Arsenal's goals and was a constant threat before his substitution.

Moment of the match: Dimitar Berbatov converting from the penalty spot in the 67th minute to put Fulham in the lead for the first time in the match.

Save of the match: A great low stop to his left from Mark Schwarzer thwarts Mikel Arteta's spot-kick and saves the day for the Cottagers in the final seconds of the London derby.

Talking point: Referee Phil Dowd's inconsistent decisions and cautioning with regard to late challenges and shirt-tugs from Sidwell, Podolski, Ramsey and Koscielny.

Goal of the match: Olivier Giroud's superb 69th minute header from Walcott's cross from the right to tie the match at 3-3 after the Frenchman struck the post.

Champions League - Arsenal beat Montpellier to qualify for knockout stage

Champions League Group B, Emirates Stadium - Arsenal 2 (Wilshere 49, Giroud 63) Montpellier 0

Two excellent second-half goals gave Arsenal a 2-0 win over Montpellier at the Emirates Stadium, a result that saw the Gunners qualify from Champions League Group B.

Following a dreary opening 45 minutes, Arsenal burst into life after half-time as Jack Wilshere’s first goal in nearly two years and a wonder-strike from Lukas Podolski put them in charge against the well-organised but uninspiring French side.

The goals gave Arsenal confidence to push for a third, but the delightful build-up play was not capped off with any additional goals.
