this is mine...heheheh..

I will not give thee all my heart
For that I need a place apart
To dream my dreams in, and I know
Few sheltered ways for dreams to go:

I will not give my heart wholeheartedly to you..
Because I need some space of my own for myself
(to be myself n ponder upon my own dreams n aspirations)

meh try yg ni pulak...

panjang sikit...

Autumn long,
The gingko tree in the front yard,
Like a peacock spreading its wings,
Showed off its golden leaves.
Silhouetted against the sun,
The leaves were falling and
Veering the ground.
Since the autumn day,
The leaves fell endlessly
Into the lost river of my existence.
At autumn's end,
A few leaves rustled in the wind;
The boughs shivered feebly against
The overcast sky.
In the invisible wind,
A few birds perched on the boughs,
Looking as if they would fly
Off any moment.
Winter wind blew;
The landscape changed with the snow's rhythm
And the tree began to dance with its dark boughs.
After a while,
The bare branches
Glowed again with golden leaves...

I will cut into halves the waist
Of the long mid-winter night;

Under the warm spring-breeze quilt
And I will unroll it in the night
When my beloved arrives...

my 10 cents interpretation...

Autumn long,
The gingko tree in the front yard,
Like a peacock spreading its wings,
Showed off its golden leaves.
Silhouetted against the sun,
The leaves were falling and
Veering the ground.
Since the autumn day,
The leaves fell endlessly
Into the lost river of my existence.

The poet feels her/his life has no meaning,
      aimless

At autumn's end,
A few leaves rustled in the wind;
The boughs shivered feebly against
The overcast sky.
In the invisible wind,
A few birds perched on the boughs,
Looking as if they would fly
Off any moment.

Even the world looks grim, overcast n dark ..
Gloomy like the poet抯 life卐ven the people around
symbolizes by the bird are abandoning the poet..
Winter wind blew;
The landscape changed with the snow's rhythm
And the tree began to dance with its dark boughs.
After a while,
The bare branches
Glowed again with golden leaves...

However, the world seems to be changing..
There抯 hope yet卼he poet抯 life might
        changed positively卼urning a new leaf
        As the saying goes

I will not give thee all my heart
For that I need a place apart
To dream my dreams in, and I know
Few sheltered ways for dreams to go:
But when I shut the door upon
Some secret wonder--still, withdrawn--
Why does thou love me even more,
And hold me closer than before?
When I of love demand the least,
Thou biddest him to fire and feast:
When I am hungry and would eat,
There is no bread, though crusts were sweet.
If I with manna may be fed,
Shall I go all uncomforted?
Nay! Howsoever dear thou art,
I will not give thee all my heart.

ok...one more try..

a=poet...
b=awek/boipren dia...

a bercinta dgn b...a ni nak bercinta sgt...dlm masa yg sama nak space sikit utk dia, so he/she put some gap between them...to dreams my dreams kononnya...but when you love someone, shouldn't he/she be your dreams, heart n soul bla bla bla...takut dgn commitment dia ni...tapi dia pelik kenapa b ni mcm tak paham2 signal dia...makin menjadi2 pulak... b ni...if he/she loves someone...he/she will give her/his heart, soul, mind...all of it in one package...a doesn't deserve her/him...that's why i said a is selfish...

begitu la adanya...from what i understand of this poem...

yg ni lebih lebih kurang sama dgn bulan...a woman waiting for her loved one...patiently...from mid winter night till spring...or is she actually waiting for spring to come?

p/s: yg lelain tu lenkali lah...tak sempat...

The Spring and the Fall

by Edna St. Vincent Millay

In the spring of the year, in the spring of the year,
I walked the road beside my dear.
The trees were black where the bark was wet.
I see them yet, in the spring of the year.
He broke me a bough of the blossoming peach
That was out of the way and hard to reach.

In the fall of the year, in the fall of the year,
I walked the road beside my dear.
The rooks went up with a raucous trill.
I hear them still, in the fall of the year.
He laughed at all I dared to praise
And broke my heart, in little ways.

Year be spring or year be falling,
The bark will drip and the birds be calling.
There's much that's fine to see and hear
In the spring of a year, in the fall of a year.
'Tis not love's going hurt my days,
But that it went in little ways.

p/s: panjang sket...sesape yg sudi tu boleh la tolong analyse...

hheheheh..one for the road...

When last we parted, thou wert young and fair, ...
How beautiful let fond remembrance say! ...
Alas! since then old time has stolen away
Full thirty years, leaving my temples bare.

ETERNITY

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise

happiness is for u to enjoy...don't act as if, if u move along with it n enjoy it, it'll go away n never came back...

neil young - heart of gold

I want to live,
I want to give
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions I never give
That keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold
I've been in my mind, it's such a fine line
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

Keep me searching for a heart of gold
You keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
I've been a miner for a heart of gold...

this person live his/her life making people around him/her happpy, yet he/she still think that he/she is not kind enough (no heart of gold)...maybe there's a big regret in his/her life n he/she is trying to undo it...

masa mula2 bercinta..."gunung tinggi mana pun sanggup daki"...

In the fall of the year, in the fall of the year,
I walked the road beside my dear.
The rooks went up with a raucous trill.
I hear them still, in the fall of the year.
He laughed at all I dared to praise
And broke my heart, in little ways...

lama2 back to normal...tak tau langsung nak jaga hati...

Year be spring or year be falling,
The bark will drip and the birds be calling.
There's much that's fine to see and hear
In the spring of a year, in the fall of a year.
'Tis not love's going hurt my days,
But that it went in little ways...

poet ni mula sedar...life is not all about love..."love little...hurt little"

When last we parted, thou wert young and fair, ...
How beautiful let fond remembrance say! ...
Alas! since then old time has stolen away
Full thirty years, leaving my temples bare.—
So has it perished like a thing of air, ...
The dream of love and youth!--now both are grey ...
Yet still remembering that delightful day,
Though time with his cold touch has blanched my hair, ...
Though I suffered many years of pain
Since then, though I did never think to live ...
To hear that voice or see those eyes again,
I can a sad but cordial greeting give,
And for thy welfare breathe as warm a prayer—
As when I loved thee young and fair.

~ When Last We Parted by Catherine Maria Fanshawe (1765-1834

missing n waiting for someone till the end of time...this poet is a faithful person...
