......The Bible, historical records, encyclopedias and ancient manuscripts, like the Dead Sea Scrolls,

How do the scrolls relate to the Koran?

Many Westerners are not aware of the many ways in which the Koran is influenced by the Hebrew Bible and the Christian New Testament. The Koran does not borrow from these scriptures, however, it does contain some of the same history, most notably from the Torah (the first five books of the Hebrew Bible). Those familiar with these biblical books will recognize figures in the Koran such as Abraham, Moses, Lot, Noah and others. The scrolls are important to Islam because they contain the earliest-known text of part of their history, as well as the history of Jews and Christians.

Ishmael was born when Abraham was 86 years old. Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away {after Isaac was born and Abraham was 100 years old then} and they wondered in the deserts of Beersheba, for a while as God told Abraham 揵ecause the race which is called by your name will spring from Isaac.攞Gen 21:12} Hagar and Ishmael then lived in the desert of Paran for a while and his mother chose a wife for him from Egypt {Gen 21:21} for Ishmael, whom, Hagar, the Egyptian slave of Sarah, bore?{Gen 25:12} The descendants of Ishmael lived in the territory between Havilah and shur, to the east of Egypt, on the way to Assyria. They lived apart from the other descendants of Abraham {Gen 25:17} {Hagar being an Egyptian, would obviously have logically chosen to go back to Egypt with her young son, Ishmael, when Abraham sent her away, wouldn抰 she; as the Bible says}? If Hagar and Ishmael lived in Mecca, why is there no history of their lives in Mecca? Did Hagar and Ishmael hide in Mecca for all those years, without any one knowing them? Why did Abraham dump them in Mecca and come back to Israel, as his body lies to rest in Machpelah {without the bodies of Hagar and Ishmael, but with Sarah, Isaac, etc}?

Many Christians and Jews mistakenly believe that Abraham's descendants through Ishmael (Muhammad and his ancestors, as seen in Fig. 3) were excluded from God's covenant with Abraham (pbuh) because Ishmael's mother, Hagar, was not a legitimate wife of Abraham, thus, her son Ishmael (the father of the Arabs) was not a legitimate son of Abraham. Therefore, they conclude that Ishmael(pbuh) and his descendants were not included in God's covenant with the sons of Abraham (pbuh) and that this covenant was exclusive to Abraham's second son, Isaac, the father of the Jews.

We, as Muslims, have a very similar narration of the same sequence of events in the Qur'an. However, in the Qur'an, the details differ from the narration of the Old Testament. Muslims respect Abraham, Sarah, Hagar, Isaac, and Ishmael (pbut) as very decent, moral and pious people. Muslims believe that the prophet Abraham (pbuh) received a revelation from God to take Hagar and her BABY, Ishmael, to a barren desert in Northern Arabia (Paran), more specifically to the future location of Makkah, and to leave them there. When Abraham began to leave, Hagar called out to him "where are you leaving us?" After repeating the question three times she asked him "Did God command you to do this?" Abraham answered "yes." So Hagar said: "Then He will not forsake us." When Hagar and her baby ran out of water she began to fear for her baby's life and took to running back and forth between the two hills of "Al-Safa" and "Al-Marwa" in search of water. Meanwhile, God sent an angel who caused water to gush out of the earth for them. This became the water of the well of "Zamzam" which the pilgrims of Makkah drink from today. Once water was found in this place the Bedouins began to settle there and it became the city of Makkah. Centuries later, Muhammad (pbuh), the prophet of Islam, was born to the descendants of Ishmael. The rites of hastening between the two hills of "Al-Safa" and "Al-Marwa" have been preserved in the Muslim's yearly pilgrimage to Makkah even to this day.

In the Qur'an we are told that Abraham (pbuh) was deprived children until his old age whereupon he was given Ishmael, his first born son. Up until this point the Qur'an and the Old Testament are in agreement. It stands to reason that after having been deprived an heir for so long Abraham would become extremely attached to his only begotten son Ishmael. For all he knew then he very likely might not be blessed with any more children before his death. We are now told in the Qur'an that Allah (God) Almighty decided to test Abraham's faith. He therefore decided to set up a test for Abraham in the one thing which he held most dear to his heart in all of this world: His only son. When Ishmael reached the age of striving, God Almighty showed Abraham a vision wherein he was to sacrifice his only son Ishmael to God. Abraham went to Ishmael and asked his opinion on this matter. This was not an attempt by Abraham to escape the command of God, but only an attempt to better prepare his son. Ishmael replied to his father: "O my father, Do as you are commanded. You shall, by Allah's will, find me to be among the patient."

In Encyclopedia Judica Jerusalem, volume 9, under the heading "Ishmael," we read:

"It is related that a renowned traditionalist of Jewish origin, from Qurayza tribe and another Jewish scholar who converted to Islam, told Caliph Omar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz (717-20) that the Jews were well informed that Ismail (Ishmael) was the one who was bound, but they concealed this out of jealousy."

"Verily, those who conceal that which Allah has sent down of the Book and purchase a small gain therewith, they eat into their bellies nothing but fire. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and theirs will be a painful torment."

The noble Qur'an, Al-Baqarah(2):174

"And (remember) when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the House (the Ka'aba in Makkah), (praying): Our Lord! Accept from us (this service). Verily! You, only You, are the Hearer, the Knower. Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us. Verily! You, only You, are the Relenting, the Merciful. Our Lord! And send among them a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Your verses, and shall instruct them in the Book and in wisdom and shall purify them. Verily! You, only You, are the Mighty, the Wise. And who desires other than the path of Abraham except he who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world, and Verily! In the Hereafter he shall be among the righteous. When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! (literally: Be a 'Muslim') he said: I have surrendered (Literally: I have become a 'Muslim') to the Lord of creation. The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, and also Jacob, (saying): O my sons! Verily! Allah hath chosen for you the (true) religion; therefore die not save as men who have surrendered (Literally: Have become 'Muslims'). Or were you witnesses when death came to Jacob? When he said unto his sons: What will you worship after me? They said: We shall worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac, One God, and unto Him we have surrendered. That was a nation which has passed away. They shall receive the reward of that which they earned, and you of what you earned. And you will not be asked of what they used to do. And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then you will be rightly guided. Say: Nay, rather the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he did not associate partners (with Allah). Say: We believe in Allah and that which was revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the twelve sons of Jacob, and that which was given to Moses and Jesus, and that which the Prophets received from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered. And if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided. But if they turn away, then they are in discord, and Allah will suffice you against them. He is the Hearer, the Knower. The religion of Allah!, and which religion can be better than Allah's? and we are His worshippers. Say (unto the People of the Scripture): Do you dispute with us concerning Allah when He is our Lord and your Lord? Ours are our works and yours your works. And we are sincere in worship to Him(alone). Or do you say that Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the sons of Jacob were Jews or Christians? Say: Do you know best, or does Allah? And who is more unjust than he who hides the testimony which he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do. That was a nation which has passed away. They shall receive the reward of that which they earned, and you of what you earned. And you will not be asked of what they used to do."

History of Ka'aba - Baytullah the House of Allah

The other names of the Kaaba, are Bait ul Ateeq-which means, according to one meaning, the earliest and ancient. According to the second meaning, it means independent and liberating. Both meanings could be taken. Bait ul Haram-the honorable house. Scholars and historians say that the Kaaba has been reconstructed between five to 12 times.

Baytullah the House Of Allah

In the province of Hijaz in the western part of Saudi Arabia, not far from the Red Sea, there lies the town of Makkah. In the center of this town there is a small square building made of stones. The small, cubed building may not rival skyscrapers in height or mansions in width, but its impact on history and human beings is unmatched. Since time immemorial world travelers have known this town and this stone built house. This is Baytullah, the House of Allah. Its sanctity and antiquity is older than history itself.

The Baytullah\Kaaba is the building towards which Muslims face five times a day, everyday, in prayer. This has been the case since the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him & his family) over 1400 years ago. Literally, Kaaba in Arabic means a high place with respect and prestige.

The word Kaaba may also be derivative of a word meaning a cube.

Tradition goes that the Kaaba was ordained by Allah to be built in the shape of the House in Heaven called Baitul Ma'amoor. Allah in his infinite Mercy ordained a similar place on earth and Prophet Adam (p.b.u.h.) was the first to build this place. The Bible, in the chapter of Genesis describes its building when God ordained Abraham (p.b.u.h.) to erect a Shrine for worship when Abraham (p.b.u.h.) was ordered to go to the southern desert with his wife Hager (p.b.u.h.) and infant son Ishmael (p.b.u.h.). The Old Testament describes this building as the Shrine of God at several places, but the one built at Ma'amoor is very much similar to the one at Makkah. There is no doubt that it was referring to the stone built house at Makkah.

Holy Qur'an brought this story into the full light of history. Say: "Allah spoken the Truth: follow the religion of Abraham, the sane in faith; he was not of the Pagans." The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings. (Holy Qur'an 3:95-96)

From the above verses Holy Qur'an firmly establishes the fact that Abraham (p.b.u.h.) was the real founder of the Holy Shrine.

When Prophet Abraham (p.b.u.h.) built the Holy Shrine in Makka, his prayers were that this place should remain a center of worship for all good and pious people; that Allah should keep his family the custodians of the Holy place. Ever since, Ishmael (p.b.u.h.) the son of Abraham (p.b.u.h.) who helped his father to build this place and his descendants remained the custodians of the Holy Shrine. History tells us that centuries passed and the guardianship of the Kaaba remained in the family of Ishmael (p.b.u.h.) until the name of Abde Manaf came into the limelight. He inherited this service and made it much more prominent. His son Hashim took this leadership and extended it to many other towns of Hijaz so much so that many pilgrims flocked annually to this place and enjoyed Hashim's hospitality. A feast was given in honor of the pilgrims, the family of Hashim served food and water to all guests. This prominence created jealousies and his brother Abdusham's adopted son Omayya tried to create trouble. There was a dispute in which Omayya failed and left Makka to settle down in the Northern provinces of Syria (Sham). After Hashim his brother Muttalib and after him Hashim's son Shyba who became known as Abdul Muttalib assumed the leadership of the family. He organized feasts and supplies of water to the pilgrims during the annual festival of pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine.

Prophet Abraham (p.b.u.h.) built this House for devout worship to the only God. But within his lifetime people disobeyed his orders and began to put idols inside the Kaaba. Abraham (p.b.u.h.) had to clean the House of these idols and of idle worshippers. He told the people that this was a symbolic house of God. God does not live there; He is everywhere. People did not understand this logic and after the death of Abraham (p.b.u.h.), the people, out of reverence, filled the place with idols again. They thronged to this place annually and worshipped their personal gods, It was over Four Thousand years later that the last of the line of prophets.

Muhammad Ibne Abdullah (p.b.u.h.) entered Makka triumphantly, went inside the Kaaba and, with the help of his cousin and son-in-law Ali Ibne Abi Talib (p.b.u.h.) destroyed all the idols of Kaaba with their own hands. At one stage of this destruction of idols, the tallest of the idol Hubbol was brought down after Ali had to stand on the shoulders of the Prophet to carry out God's orders. The Prophet of Islam (p.b.u.h.) was reciting the verse from the Holy Qur'an "Truth hath come and falsehood hath vanished". This was done in the 8th year of Hijra, January 630 AD after the bloodles victory at Makka by the Prophet of Islam (p.b.u.h.)

Historically when Abraham (p.b.u.h.) was ordered by Allah to build the Shrine for worship, he uncovered the original foundations of the Kaaba built by Adam (p.b.u.h.). Abraham (p.b.u.h.) with the help of his son Ishmael (p.b.u.h.) erected the new shrine on the same foundations. Originally it contained only four walls without a roof. Centuries later during the time of Khusayi who was the leader of the Tribe of Quraish in Makka a taller building was completed with a roof and a quadrangle wall around it to give it the shape of a sanctuary and doors all around the sanctuary walls. People entered through these doors to come to the Kaaba for worship

It is now about 60 feet high, 60 feet wide from east to west and 60 feet from north to south.A door is fixed about 7 feet above ground level facing Northeast. A Black stone (Hajar al-Aswad) was fixed into its eastern corner. In front of the building was Maqam-e-Ibrahim, the arch shape gate known as that of Banu Shayba and the Zamzam Well. Just outside are the Hills called Safa and Merwa and the distance between the hills is about 500 yards. These days both of the hills are enclosed into the sanctuary walls with a roof over it.
The whole building is built of the layers of gray blue stone from the hills surrounding Makka. The four corners roughly face the four points of the compass. At the East is the Rukn-e-Aswad (The Black stone), at the North is the Rukn-e-Iraqi, at the west Rukn-e-Shami and at the south Rukn-e-Yamani. The four walls are covered with a curtain (Kiswa). The kiswa is usually of black brocade with the Shahada outlined in the weave of the fabric. About 2/3rd of the way up runs a gold embroidered band covered with Qur'anic text.

In the Eastern corner about 5 feet above ground the Hajar al-Aswad (The Black stone) is fixed into the wall. Its real nature is difficult to determine, its visible shape is worn smooth by hand touching and kissing. Its diameter is around 12 inches. Opposite the Northwest wall but not connected with it, is a semi circular wall of white marble. It is 3 feet high and about 5 feet thick. This semi circular space enjoys an especial consideration and pilgrims wait in queue to find a place to pray there.

The graves of Ishmael (p.b.u.h.) and his mother Hager (p.b.u.h.) are within this semi circular wall (Hateem). Between the archway and the facade (N.E.) is a little building with a small dome, the Maqam-e-Ibrahim. Inside it is kept a stone bearing the prints of two human feet. Prophet Abraham (p.b.u.h.) is said to have stood on this stone when building the Kaaba and marks of his feet are miraculously preserved. On the outskirts of the building to the Northeast is the 'Zamzam Well' (this is now put under ground).

Kaa'bah: It's Size and History!
The small, cubed building known as the Ka'abah may not rival skyscrapers in height or mansions in width, but its impact on history and human beings is[]unmatched. The Ka'abah is the building towards which Muslims face five times a day, everyday, in prayer. This has been the case since the time of Prophet[ Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) over 1400 years ago.

The Size of the Kaa'bah:

The current height of the Kaa'bah is 39 feet, 6 inches and total size comes to 627 square feet.
The inside room of the Kaa'bah is 13X9 meters.

The Kaa'bah's walls are one meter wide. The floor inside is 2.2 meters higher than the place where people perform Tawaaf.

The ceiling and roof are two levels made out of wood. They were reconstructed with teak which is capped with stainless steel.

The walls are all made of stone. The stones inside are unpolished, while the ones outside are polished. This small building has been constructed and reconstructed by Prophets Adam,Ibrahim, Ismail and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). No other building hashad this honor. very much is known about the details of this small but significant building.
Did you know the Kaa'bah was reconstructed as recently as close to four years ago?
Did you know that the Kaa'bah has been subjected to danger by natural disasters like flooding, as well as human attacks?
If you didn't keep reading. You'll find some rarely heard of information discussed below and discover facts about the Kaa'bah many are unaware of.
The other names of the Kaa'bah Literally, Kaa'bah in Arabic means a high place with respect and prestige. The[word Kaa'bah may also be derivative of a word meaning a cube. Some of these other names include:[
Bait ul Ateeq-which means, according to one meaning, the earliest and ancient. According to the second meaning, it means independent and liberating. Both meanings could be taken
Bayt ul Haram-the honorable house
The Kaa'bah has been reconstructed up to 12 times Scholars and historians say that the Kaa'bah has been reconstructed between five to 12 times. The very first construction of the Kaa'bah was done by Prophet Adam. Allah says in the Qur'ân that this was the first house that was built for humanity toworship Allah. After this, Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail rebuilt the Kaa'bah. The measurements of[the Kaa'bah's Ibrahimic foundation are as follows:
-the eastern wall was 48 feet and 6 inches
-the Hateem side wall was 33 feet
-the side between the black stone and the Yemeni corner was 30 feet
-the Western side was 46.5 feet
Following this, there were several constructions before the ProphetMuhammad's time. Reconstruction of Kaa'bah by Quraish]Prophet Muhammad participated in one of its reconstructions before he became[a Prophet. After a flash flood, the Kaa'bah was damaged and its walls cracked. It needed[rebuilding. This responsibility was divided among the Quraish's four tribes. Prophet Muhammad helped with this reconstruction. Once the walls were erected, it was time to place the Black Stone, (theHajar ul Aswad) on the eastern wall of the Kaa'bah.Arguments erupted about who would have the honor of putting the Black Stonein its place. A fight was about to break out over the issue, when Abu Umayyah, Makkah's oldest man, proposed that the first man to enter the gate of the mosque the following morning would decide the matter. That man was the Prophet. The Makkans were ecstatic. "This is the trustworthy one[ (Al-Ameen)," they shouted in a chorus. "This is Muhammad".He came to them and they asked him to decide on the matter. He agreed.Prophet Muhammad proposed a solution that all agreed to-putting the BlackStone on a cloak, the elders of each of the clans held on to one edge of thecloak and carried the stone to its place. The Prophet then picked up the stone and placed it on the wall of the Kaa'bah. Since the tribe of Quraish did not have sufficient funds, this reconstruction did not include the entire foundation of the Kaa'bah as built by Prophet Ibrahim. This is the first time the Kaa'bah acquired the cubical shape it has now unlike the rectangle shape which it had earlier.

The portion of[ the Kaa'bah left out is called Hateem now.Construction After the Prophet's Time-Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr The Syrian army destroyed the Kaa'bah in Muharram 64 (Hijri date) and before the next Hajj Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, reconstructed the Kaa'bah from the ground up.[
Ibn az-Zubayr wanted to make the Kaa'bah how the Prophet Muhammad wanted it, on he foundation of the Prophet Ibrahim. Ibn az-Zubayr said, "I heard Aa'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) say, 'The Prophet said: "If your people had not quite recently abandoned the Ignorance(Unbelief), and if I had sufficient provisions to rebuild it [the Kaa'bah], I would have added five cubits to it from the Hijr. Also, I would make two doors; one for people to enter therein and the other to exit." (Bukhaaree).

Ibn az-Zubayr said, "Today, I can afford to do it and I do not fear the people.Ibn az-Zubayr built the Kaa'bah on Prophet Ibrahim's foundation. He put the roof on three pillars with the wood of Aoud (a perfumed wood with aroma which is traditionally burned to get a good smell out of it in Arabia). In his construction he put two doors, one facing the east the other facing the west, as the Prophet wanted but did not do in his lifetime. He rebuilt the Kaa'bah on the Prophet Ibrahim's foundation, which meant that the Hateem area was included. The Hateem is the area adjacent to the Kaa'bah enclosed by a low semi-circular wall.
Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr also made the following additions and modifications:[
-put a small window close to the roof of the Kaa'bah to allow for light.
-moved the door of the Kaa'bah to ground level and added a second door to the Kaa'bah.
-added nine cubits to the height of the Kaa'bah, making it twenty cubits high.
-its walls were two cubits wide.
-reduced the pillars inside the House to three instead of six as were earlier built by Quraish.

For reconstruction, ibn az-Zubayr put up four pillars around Kaa'bah and hung cloth over them until the building was completed. People began to do Tawaf around these pillars at all times, so Tawaf of the Kaa'bah was never abandoned, even during reconstruction.
During Abdul Malik bin Marwan's time
In 74 Hijri (or 693 according to the Gregorian calendar), Al-Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Thaqafi, the known tyrant of that time, with the approval of Umayyad KHALIFAH Abdul Malik bin Marwan, demolished what Ibn az-Zubayr had added to it from the older foundation of Prophet Ibrahim, restore its old structure as the Quraish had it.]Some of the changes he made were the following]
-he rebuilt it in the smaller shape which is found today
-took out the Hateem
walled up the western door (whose signs are still visible today) and left the rest as it was pulled down the wall in the Hateem area
-removed the wooden ladder Ibn az-Zubayr had put inside the Kaa'bah.
-reduced the door's height by five cubits
When Abdul Malik bin Marwan came for Umra and heard the Hadith that it waswish of Prophet for the Kaa'bah to be constructed the way Abdullah ibnaz-Zubayr had built it, he regretted his actions.
]Imam Malik's advice to the KHALIFAH Harun al Rasheed Abbasi Khalifa Harun al Rasheed wanted to rebuild the Kaa'bah the way the ]Prophet Muhammad wanted and the way Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr built it. But when he consulted Imam Malik, the Imam asked the KHALIFAH to change his mind because constant demolition and rebuilding is not respectful and would become a toy in the hands of kings. Each one would want to demolish and rebuild the Kaa'bah. Based on this advice, Harun al Rasheed did not reconstruct the Kaa'bah. The structure remained in the same construction for 966 years, with minor repairs here and there

Reconstruction during Sultan Murad Khan's time
In the year 1039 Hijri, because of heavy rain, flood and hail, two of the[/Kaa'bah's walls fell down. The flood during which this occurred took place on the 19th of Shaban 1039 Hijri which continued constantly, so the water in the Kaa'bah became almost[ close to half of its walls, about 10 feet from the ground level. On Thursday the 20th of Shaban 1039 Hijri, the eastern and western walls fell down. When flood receded on Friday the 21st of Shaban, the cleanup started.Again, a curtain, the way Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr established on 4 pillars, was put up, and the reconstruction started on the 26th of Ramadan. The restof the walls except for the one near the Black Stone, were demolished.By the 2nd of Zul-Hijjah 1040 the construction was taking place under theguidance of Sultan Murad Khan, the Ottoman Khalifa. From the point of theBlack stone and below, the current construction is the same as that done byAbdullah ibn az-Zubayr.The construction which was done under the auspices of Murad Khan was exactly the one done at the time of Abdul Malik ibn Marwan which is the way the Quraysh had built it before Prophethood. On Rajab 28-1377, One historian counted the total stones of the Kaa'bah and they were 1,614. These stones are of different shapes. But the stones which are inside the outer wall which is visible are not counted in there.

Reconstruction of the Kaa'bah In 1996
A major reconstruction of the Kaa'bah took place between May 1996 and October 1996.This was after a period of about 400 years (since Sultan Murad Khan's time).During this reconstruction the only original thing left from the Kaa'bah are the stones. All other material has been replaced including the ceiling and the roof and its wood.

What is inside the Kaa'bah?]
-there are two pillars inside (others report 3 pillars)
]-there is a table on the side to put items like perfume
-there are two lantern-type lamps hanging from the ceiling
[-the space can accommodate about 50 people
-there are no electric lights inside
-the walls and floors are of marble
-there are no windows inside
-there is only one door
-the upper inside walls of the Kaa'bah were covered with some kind of curtain with the Kalimah written on it.

Going up the ladders to the top. They entered from the side door. Yes, there is another door, covered by the black veil. The door you see, the gold one (Yes, GOLD not just golden) leads to the main atrium of the Kabba. This one is sealed and the key is with a certain family living in Mecca. They have had this key since history. Muhammed PBUH didnt take it from them and he said that holding the Kabaa's key will be the responsibility of this family forever. Till now, when they need to enter the main atruim, they call for this family's big guy who has the key.

My father entered through the side door. It leads to a staircase that leads directly to the roof without entering the Kabaas main hall, which is empty except for some inscriptions on the wall as I heared. Nobody is allowed in there.

On the Kabaa's door is where the Quraishis put the agreement to boycott Beni Hashem, Muhammed's family. Later when they opened it to see the parchment, they found it has been eaten by bugs except for the word "Bismika Allahoma"

i'm speechless..

OK, the pic above, I need to know one question. Does Muslims or the King 'tunduk" ( bow ) before entering inside the room? Because I heard the entrance is not tall rather small so peoples need to tunduk little while entering it. Correct or not?

i dun see any reasons for anyone to bow down when they enter the Ka'abah, well, maybe if someone who's 8 feet tall might feel obligated to bow down a lil bit so that his head won't bump on the door...

but then again, I might be wrong.

so tell me, dear Truth, WHY do you asked such question? WHERE IN THE PICTURE do you see that the King (or anyone) BOW DOWN before at the doorstep?
