King Willem-Alexander of The Netherlands and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands are making a state visit to Ireland as the guests of Irish president Michael D Higgins. The visit takes place in Dublin and Cork from 12 to 14 June 2019. The state visit began in Dublin, where President Higgins and his wife, Sabina Higgins, received the King and Queen at áras an Uachtaráin, the president’s official residence. Next, the King and Queen, in accordance with Irish tradition, planted a tree in the garden and ringed the Peace Bell.
On the evening of June 12, 2019, Irish President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins hosted a State Dinner at áras an Uachtaráin in honour of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Lord Mayor of Dublin at the Mansion House. The royal couple then visited Trinity College Dublin and the Old Library. In the afternoon, The King and Queen met with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar at the Government building.
Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hosted a traditional reception and a performance of modern ballet at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin, in honour of Irish President Michael Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins.
On June 20, 2019, Dutch Queen Maxima visited Hoogeveen city within the scope of ‘’More music in the classroom’’ programme.
In the afternoon, Queen Maxima visited De Delerij, an initiative of the Refugee Children Foundation (Stiching Vluchtelingkinderen), which helps refugees and asylum seekers to integrate, in Driebergen.
On June 25, 2019, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands opened the exhibition 'Gek op Geld' at Tax and Customs Museum in Rotterdam. Afterwards, Dutch Queen Maxima opened the "No Limits Noordwijk Riding School" in Noordwijk aan Zee.
Dutch Queen Maxima is attending the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA) and as honorary patron of the G20’s Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI).
As the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development and Honorary Patron of the G20’s Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion, Queen Maxima attended the G20 Summit held in Osaka, Japan. On the second day of the summit, the Queen attended an event on women's empowerment during the G20 Summit in Osaka. From the evening of July 9 to July 11, in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), Queen Maxima is making a three day visit to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Queen arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, and welcomed by Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen.
On the second day of her visit to Bangladesh, Queen Maxima firstly met with development partners and representatives of the fintech sector at the local UN office. Queen Maxima then visited a representative of iPay, which has developed the iPay e-wallet that customers can install on their smartphone and use to make online payments.
