Lee Jung-hoo was mentioned as a candidate for the Rookie of the Year in the U.S. professional baseball this season.

MLB introduced the nominees for Rookie of the Year, Best Player, Cy Young Award, and Coach of the Year for the 2024 season in each of the six major league districts on the 13th.

In the National League West, where San Francisco, the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego, Arizona and Colorado are located, Lee Jung-hoo was listed as a candidate for the Rookie of the Year.

"San Francisco recruited many players this off-season, but among them, Lee Jung-hoo will bring the biggest change to the club," MLB said. "Lee Jung-hoo, who is quick and has good contact skills, will be a 'spark plug' (invigorating energy and vitality) by perfectly melting into the team."  릴게임

"Unbeknownst to you, Lee Jung-hoo will be your favorite player," he said.

Lee Jung-hoo has been playing seven hits, one home run and three RBIs in eight games and 22 at-bats in exhibition games this season.

The other five districts included Baltimore Jackson Holiday, Detroit Colt Keys, Texas Evan Carter, Miami Max Meyer and Chicago Cubs Imanaga Shota.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, the "greatest fish in the world" belonging to the same district as Lee Jung-hoo, appears to have been excluded from the candidate group early on.

MLB did not let the teams of the four candidates overlap each other because Mookie Betts was considered the NL West MVP candidate.

"If Otani also served as a pitcher this season, he would have been a strong candidate for MVP," MLB said. "Bets will raise his value by playing shortstop this year."

San Diego manager Mike Shildt, who plays for Kim Ha-sung and Ko Woo-seok, has been mentioned for the possibility of winning coach of the year.

San Diego, which finished third in the district last season, sent ace Juan Soto to the New York Yankees in the offseason.

"Coach Shildt has a difficult task in the highly competitive National League West," the media said. "If San Diego shows improvement, coach Shildt will emerge as a savior for the club."
