Silva, 'No. 1 in three categories', is unstable in high attack share

Viewed 8 times23-4-2024 07:58 PM

On the 29th, 35 points exploded with 49.36% of the market share against IBK, winning GS 3-1

GS Caltex beat Industrial Bank of Korea on its home turf and finished the second round with 3 wins and 3 losses.

GS Caltex KIXX, led by head coach Cha Sang-hyun, won the set score 3-1 19-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-20 at home against IBK Industrial Bank Altos in the second round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V-League at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on the 29th. GS Caltex, which won three points in two consecutive games against Industrial Bank of Korea following its first round showdown in Hwaseong on October 24, narrowed the gap with second-place Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate to one point 8 wins and 4 losses.

GS Caltex's native ace and captain Kang So-hwi scored 17 points with a 45.95% attack success rate, and vice-captain Yoo Eui-yeon, who was replaced by Kwon Min-ji in the middle of the first set, also added 11 points with a 40.91% success rate. GS Caltex scored 35 points, the most by both teams, as foreign player Gisele Silva was responsible for 49.36% of the attack share. However, Silva's high attack share, the oldest foreign player in the seven clubs, is also worrying about manager Cha Sang-hyun and GS Caltex's male mother.

Ginseng Corporation is a famous restaurant for foreign players

The V League is famous for its high proportion of foreign players' attacks in both men and women. Each club is also well aware of the fact that foreign players who first observe players who can play a lot of attacks at the tryout site every year and challenge the V-League should also be responsible for a lot of attack share in Korea. Brittney Abercrombie Corporate Bank, who received the No. 1 overall pick in this year's foreign player draft, also expressed her determination to try many attacks after the pick.

The first player in the women's team in the V League to have a 50% offensive share was Madeline Montagno, the best foreign player in women's volleyball. Montagno had a 53.78 percent attack share in the 2011-2012 season, his third season with KGC Ginseng Corporation currently Red Sparks. And Montagno's record, which was unlikely to be broken for a while, was broken in just two years, with Joyce Gomez da Silva, who played for the Korea Ginseng Corporation in the 2013-2014 season, recording an incredible attack share of 54.46%.

In the 2014-2015 season, Joyce also had an offensive share of 53.56 percent with 2078 offensive attempts, over 50 percent for the second consecutive season. In the 2014-2015 season, the last season when the foreign player system was implemented as a free agent, in addition to Joyce, Hyundai Engineering & Construction's Polina Rahimova recorded 49.02%, Korea Expressway Corporation's Hi-pass's Nicole Fawcett recorded 48.25%, and Heungkuk Life's Pink Spiders' Rachel Luke recorded 46.90%.

After the foreign player system was changed to the draft, the proportion of foreign players decreased slightly, but it was still the same that foreign players were responsible for the most part of the team's attack. In particular, Valentina Diouf Busto Arcizio, a former Italian national team player who played for Korea Ginseng Corporation for two seasons, scored 50.61% of the attack share in the 2020-2021 season following 45.60% in the 2019-2020 season, reviving 50% of the foreign player's attack share in six seasons in the V League.

In the 2021-2022 season, Catherine Bell, who played for Heungkuk Life, recorded 43.32% of the attack share, and Retizia Moma Vasoko Hyundai Construction, who played for GS Caltex, recorded 41.29%. Last season, Elisabet Ine Barga KPS Chemic Police, who was the top scorer at the Korea Ginseng Corporation, achieved 1,000 points and 50% of the attack share for the third time in V League history after Montagno and Joyce with 50.88 percent of the market share all three are former Ginseng Corporation players of Chung Kwan-kwan.

Silva, who ranks first in score, success rate, and possession

GS Caltex, which gave up renewing its contract with Moma after last season, selected the sixth overall pick in the foreign player draft. It was quite an unlucky turn compared to finishing fifth out of seven clubs last season. With each of the previous five clubs selecting the players they wanted, manager Cha Sang-hyun named Cuban-born Apogit Spiker Gisele Silva, who is 191 centimeters tall, after much consideration. Born in 1991, he was the oldest foreign player in seven clubs.

Silva was the oldest foreign player and had a rich career playing in various leagues, starting with Cuba, Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Italy, Poland and Greece. From 2016 to 2018, he played in the Chinese and Philippine leagues, which also had the advantage of having an excellent understanding of Asian volleyball. However, as he is a veteran player who turned 32 just after the opening of the season, many volleyball fans said that concerns about his physical strength would be a source of anxiety for Silva.

Silva's skills are, in a nutshell, more than expected as he finished his schedule until the second round. Silva, who has played in all 12 games played by GS Caltex until the second round of this season, scored 348 points with a 45.04% attack success rate, leading both in scoring and attack success rate. In addition, he has scored 16 sub-scores in 47 sets, leading the sub-category with 0.34 per set. It is a perfect performance to be called the best foreign player of the season.

However, Silva also worries GS Caltex fans. Silva has an attack share of 43.8% with 706 attempts through the second round. In particular, in the match against Industrial Bank of Korea on the 29th, he attempted 77 attacks, nearly half of the team's attacks, recording an overly high attack share of 49.36 percent.Although it is still early in the season, the only foreign players currently accounting for more than 40% of the league's offensive share are Banya Bukirich 41.66% and Silva of the Korea Expressway Corporation. 토토사이트

In addition to Silva, GS Caltex has a wealth of outside heaters that can play their part if given the opportunity, including Kang So-hwi, Yoo Eui-yeon, Kwon Min-ji, and Choi Eun-ji. In addition, the proportion of the center, such as Han Soo-ji, Oh Se-yeon, and Moon Ji-yoon, should be increased to diversify attacks. Of course, in order to win in front of him, he has no choice but to attack Silva a lot, but in order to utilize "healthy Silva" until spring volleyball, it is necessary to reduce Silva's increasing attack share.
