Filming is officially underway on the eagerly awaited Michael Jackson .

As reported, the release date for the Antoine Fuqua-directed movie has been announced, and now the masses have been given their first look at the film’s lead, Jaafar Jackson, in motion as the King of Pop.

Echoing earlier reports, the late legend’s nephew will moonwalk onto screens as the lead in ‘Michael’ – which premieres April 18, 2025.

Now, in a brand new tease, the first close-up shot of the film has been shared across MJ’s social channels.

And suffice it to say, the resemblance is uncanny.

Recreating Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ performance from the 1991 ‘Dangerous Tour,’ the caption read:

“The journey has begun….#MichaelMovie”

The latest look at ‘Michael’ arrives after it was announced that Colman Domingo and Nia Long will play the mega-star’s parents, Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson respectively.

Lionsgate and the Michael Jackson Estate are powering the project, which promises to deliver a raw and unvarnished look at the layered life of the biggest star in music history.

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ producer Graham King has been tapped to produce, while Oscar nominee John Logan crafted the script.

We’re all sorts of buzzed for this!
